Been visiting on and off over two years and have seen the cafe and surrounds develop and evolve. The units are now all occupied, businesses include a hairdresser, a beauty salon and kitchen design. What is ever present is the quality of the coffee - drinks as a whole to be fair - and the utter professionalism and friendliness of the people who work there. The staff were great pre-pandemic in 2019 and then stepped up a notch throughout the Winter 2020 lockdown, when outdoor cafes were allowed to open. Cafe Velo Vert was often our only bit of sunshine, as we determined to keep on riding our bikes despite wind and the cold temperatures. As health workers whose jobs have been monumentally difficult, it was a treat to have someone else make you a coffee and somewhere to go last winter! As the Great Re-Opening has virtually happened by now, this visit we were able to treat ourselves to a sit down at a table (no longer on the steps or the wooden garden surround) and so shared a Rocky Road. Massive slice for one as it happened, so happy to have shared! I usually have a hot chocolate with all the extras but this time chose an Earl Gray Blue (something) because I’d already decided I was having a cake! Himself had a Velo Vert Special Latte which I think involved darl chocolate sprinkles… Lovely setting with all the plants really starting to bed in - literally as there’s a metal bedstead as a climbing frame. AND, I’ve not even mentioned the nature walk, come here on a bike or not, it’s a supremely tranquil and vibrant little spot!

🥓 Bacon perfection and excellet service 🥓 Popped in here for lunch on Sunday - as a family, we've been coming here for a year or two. The food here is the best version of each item. As a self-confessed bacon critic, the egg, sausage and bacon cobs are the best any of us have ever had - please never stop doing these! On Sunday, 3 of us had these (we'd been looking forward to them all week) and they didn't disappoint. My daughter had berry porridge, which she's still raving about ;-) I've worked my way through most of the menu here and everything is done perfectly. Every time. From the coffee to the American-style crispy bacon to the avo on sourdough and the upcycled decor. It's always a wholesome, refreshing treat. Also, the service is quick and fuss-free. A mention, too should go to the friendly waitress who brought our food, and some blankets as we were sat outside with our dog. She was so friendly, cheerful and professional - qualities that seem to be a little rare in hospitality - she had purple hair if that helps identify her :-)

Excellent cafe located on a farm, showing the benefits of a farm diversifying its business with more income streams. Amazing cafe with lots of seating with much of it being in the lovely outdoors. The bacon and egg cob in seeded bread is amazing as is the brie, cranberry and bacon toastie! Twix and Kit Kat cake was delicious and tasted homemade - reminded me of Cobbs Country Store’s mars bar cake! Coffees were hot and creamy and tea was nice. Great service and location. Lee’s a brilliant manager and all the staff a friendly too!

I like the place, nice design, friendly and helpful staff. This might be my own view perhaps, but I have felt out of place wearing my daily clothes, probably the cheapest bike out there and no lycra and clip clap shoes :D I suppose it's a popular route for racing/training around there. Good location for a cycling hotspot anyway! I'm happy and hopeful that more caffes will be open in more places and will be just as busy with people choosing to travel by bike! Really liked the pictures on the walls. I was able to refill my water bottle and they had chain lube (yay) but you can also do circuits haha!

I haven't had any food, I will try next time. I had some muffins which were a bit sticky/funny texture. I liked the ice coffee though. Premium prices, but it's ok because helping local business is important. That's part of traveling by bike in my case :D I always stop at...
