Good place to grab something to eat or drink but not fancy food. We visited the place on Thursday around 6 p.m., it was rather empty. Only a very few tables. As a group of 11 we ordered the drinks and food at the bar and some of us on app. I was the last one to order and I ordered Greek Goddess pizza which is not in standard menu and meze meat feast pizza. The drinks were served promptly however the awaiting time for meals varied between 15-45 minutes! As for a not very busy day and time and orders for 1 group at 1 table we expected the meals will served at almost the same time but unfortunately when most of family were finishing their meals, some were still waiting for theirs to arrive. The pizzas were really good! The dough was well done, fluffy, not guey, with crispy edges. They didn't save on toppings, both pizzas were full of toppings and good size. The place offers starters and starters for sharing, burgers, sandwiches, salads, fish bar, pizza and desserts too. Sundaes (or bottomless sundaes) are worth mentioning - they are really nice. The place also offers daily meals through almost all week (Monday-Saturday) and carvery with 3 different types of meat. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. We had a very cheerful and helpful waiter who made sure all food was served according to dietary guidance. There are plenty of tables inside and outside, at the bar. The place has a feeling of old traditional pub, looks lovely and welcoming from outside but a little gloomy inside. Car park is just next to the building, free of charge. Wheelchair accessible and dog friendly place.

We go most weeks and I have a small carvery which I think it's £6.29 and my friend has a traditional carvery. There are other dishes to choose from. Meat and vegetables always very nice and cooked to my liking which is Al dent.. I usually have beef and a a generous tasty portion is served by a friendly chef. All staff are friendly and we get served in a timely manner We normally go around 12 but yesterday we were a bit later at 2.30-the food was still fresh and In plentiful supply. It looked very appetising. You can also use Meercat Rewards Monday to Thursday so we were able to get 25% off both food and drink.. Bargain! However even without this the food is excellent value money. Would recommend.

This was the first time we've ever been to The Shepherds Stonehouse. We were very impressed and will be going back again. We got a lovely seat in the window which was bright, though lots of the other tables seemed to be a little in the dark. The menu is great and really good value, especially the daily special deals. The food was a reasonable account of time for ordering to take and my wife had the carvery which she said was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful and the chain even accepted the blu light card discount which made it even cheaper.

I had to write a review following my recent use of The Shepherds. A special mention to Jen, Danielle and all of the team. I run a caravanning club, and on a recent rally we held in the area, I asked if the Shepherds could accommodate a booking for 64 people on a Friday night. They were very obliging and this was sorted with ease. Jen and her team had this so well organised. I was able to pre-order our foods, and plates where served on time, fresh and piping hot. Not one single order was missed or messed up. Our club members visited also over several days at different times for breakfasts and evening meals (not all at once of course) and everybody commented on the quality being superb and the value for money being amazing, and the staff being very very welcoming and friendly. My own food on the Friday night (I had the fish and chip chippy platter) was so fresh and amazing fish. To be honest, for the price, I was expecting the mass produced small frozen pieces that you get in these sort of places, but no, this was hand battered cod, and a good size too, better value than any fish and chip shop order. This was so good, I visited again on the Sunday for the Carvery. Beef that melted in your mouth and full of flavour with a geat selection of veg, cooked again to perfection. Overall ambience was good, cleaniness was superb (including the toilets), a place that I can certainly recommend to anybody visiting the area. In fact if I lived more local, it would be a regular. Well done team, you all did fantastic. Thank...

Not a great first impression as cleaning products were positioned at the main point of entry, we were greeted but not informed what or where to go. The member of staff went off to clear and clean our table but this was not communicated immediately to us. Another staff member then arrived and asked us to wait in the bar area whilst our table no.12 was prepared. We ordered our drinks and food, checked our table afterwards which seemed fine so positioned our drinks and went to the carvery. A good selection of meats for myself, my wife had the vegetarian option. There was not any alternative to the meat for vegetarians however which seemed strange. The vegetables were bland, some overcooked, others under. The cauliflower cheese was pretty much without any cheese flavour. The stuffing was pretty poor and rhe yorkshire were cheap tasting and would guess frozen bulk buys. The meats however were very good and the best thing about our visit. This was obviously completely irrelevant to my vegetarian wife who was disappointed with the whole experience. The staff member serving the meat was friendly, chatty, very pleasant and accommodating. Adjoining tables remained uncleared with dirty plates and glasses throughout our visit which lasted approximately 1 hour. I thought this was poor considering there were several members of staff chatting at the bar when I visited the restrooms. Overall it was a very disappointing meal, we would not return to...
