Basmati Restaurant — Restaurant in Sandwell

The last time I visited Basmati was pre-covid and honestly I don't know why I left it so long to revisit. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, the food was really flavoursome with good portion sizes and brought to the table within a good timeframe considering it all looked very freshly prepared. We ordered the set meal for 2 (option B) and was very happy with everything. To be honest we probably should have taken some of it home with us afterwards as we were both very full when we left but it was too delicious to leave! I'm not sure if we were charged twice for the poppadoms (as I believe they were part of the set meal) but for the few pounds extra I considered that a minor thing so didn't question it. There is a small, free car park outside with a ramp to access the front door. The walkway is quite narrow but shouldn't pose any access issues. We will definitely be returning again soon once...

Well. The food is always good here. I have been going here for years. And the service is normally spot on. But I must say last visit was an exception. We booked a table for 5 people at 7.30. We waited an inordinate amount of time to be served. Throughout the meal. We waited over half an hour for our starter then waited an hour for our main after the starters had been cleared. Very disappointing. In fact by the time the food had come a couple of us had gone past the point of hunger and didn't enjoy the meal. We did make representation to the staff but no reduction in the bill was made. With that in mind we will be looking for another venue as we expected better treatment as long term,...

I recently visited Basmati restaurant and was impressed by the lovely atmosphere and thoughtful table arrangement. The ambiance added a charming touch to the dining experience.

While the atmosphere and presentation were commendable, I found the food to be just okay. It didn't quite meet the expectations I had. Additionally, the quality of the wines was a bit disappointing.

The restaurant has great potential, and with some improvements in the food quality and wine selection, it could offer an even better dining experience. The attentive staff and cozy environment are definite pluses.
