A real gem of a place - love coming here.

Consistently fantastic food (a nice mixture of comforting staples and specials with interesting twists), great coffee and cakes, warm service and incredible views. Good for vegetarian and gluten-free options (and possibly others) and they do take-away.

Often a bit quieter than some of the more tourist-visited places between Kyle and Portree, so worth travelling that bit further. It's popular with locals and you'll often hear Gaelic conversation (tha e sgoinneil!).

Not the cheapest but you'll certainly have no trouble paying more for lower quality food, elsewhere on the island - so would say it good value (especially given quality of everything and decent portions sizes).

Not always open in the evening, so do check the opening hours.

The cafe (and the attached hall and shop, which is also great) is owned by the community, so all the money goes back to...

Difficult to spot, if you are in the Sleat area of Skye then a visit is a must. The new building is a community shop and post office with a cafe and activity area. The signs are grey and a little vague if you are driving past anywhere near the speed limit. It is a shame they are not more prominent as I drove past all week without being sure and finally visited on my last day of the visit. The shop has a large selection of organic items as well as a good selection of fresh bread, vegetables. A small local gift selection is also available. Any community shop needs customers, I suggest making the signs clearer to catch...

Called in late .... no staff and they had been very busy during the day , only got coffee and a guinness cake but both were nice , no actual food available due to staff shortage so the kitchen closed early , we were served by the manager, a delightful chap very attenive and genuinely polite even though e looked very tired ... I think they all deserve a payrise or bonus for the polite service alone , all the staff looked very busy yet still took the time to make sure we were served properly...sorry about the pic , it was a guinness...

It’s a Restaurant, a deli , a post office , and a playground ! Great stop on the road to Armadale for some lunch - simple selection is sandwiches and soup , but also a milkshake menus and some great looking cakes ! We had the tuna Mayo toastie, but toasties, and the soup - yum ! Superb views at the same time ! Reasonable prices and helpful staff. The shop is great with a mix of the weird and the everyday … useful if you stay nearby and run out of the essentials .
