In for an evening meal mod week. We arrived early so to get the freshest food experience. We opted for the full buffet and a bottomless fizzy drink each. They have menu options and you can make your own takeaway box too.
There is ample parking at both the front and rear of the building.
We stood at the bar for about 10 seconds and were shown to a seat and gave our drinks order and said we would like the buffet. A reciept ticket was ppaced on our table with 2 large glasses and asked to go help ourselves.
The terms are basically, you have 90 minutes per sitting. Its not obvious but I did see it written on their website. You can book a table in advance also.
There is a big range of food from chinese soups and starters to sushi rolls and mussels on ice to yorkshire puddings and veg then a wide range of chicken, pork, beef and prawn dishes with some hot sauces too.
It got fairly busy before 6pm but it was never crowded at the hotplates. The desserts were not the most appetising but thats personal taste.
5 stars would have been given if the tables were a little more spaced out (an unusually high proportion of the clientelle took up a lot of personal space 😉. The interior could have easilly been made to feel more Asian too which would have added to the experience.
I do reccomend a visit, I have been twice (a couple of years apart) and the food has been consistantly good...
Read moreI enjoyed the variety and quality of the dishes. The service was beyond annoying, impersonal and hurried like a drive through without cars. There were barely a few minutes went by without one waitress hovering across the table eager to whip the place away. Several times I had to insist I was not finished with my plate or they go away and allow my friend and I to finish a sentence. The dodgems car buffet was full of delightful starters, mains and desserts but most areas had uninvited arms stretched in front of you as the gutsy "eat until you burst" brigade lunged for yet another scoop of chips/onion rings or nuggets. Personally I would have troughs lined up against the wall for those greedy, ill-mannered customer, who looked ready to burst at any minute. The waitresses wore a dressage ponytail which "swished" at us and the table opposite several times. We made jokes about potentially grabbing it the next time it brushed our table or arm. After begging my friend to hurry and leave, we did. We found the young lady with a NASA type head set on, directing traffic while she rang up our bill and pointed to the amount rather than have to converse. Outside, we drew a breath of fresh air and vowed never to go back. It reminded me off monkeys at the zoo at feeding time........ My last visit I fear, the most unenjoyable meal out for a long time,...
Read moreThe high scoring reviews led us to try this place. Ok so it's a decent buffet restaurant but PARKING IS A LITERAL HELL (Friday 5:30pm). With scores of people queuing right out the door at opening time, get ready to be herded around for 30-40 mins before you get your table. Food quality wise, this is about as good as it gets for a chinese buffet and it certainly has an edge over any other buffet in Glasgow but the bar isn't exactly set high in buffets. The food itself doesnt set itself apart from anywhere with an above average ala carte menu. Overall, the sheer variety of dishes and the ingrediants themselves are good enough that you should find something you'll like. The decor is lovely but spoiled by the jam packed population of people who are manically piling their plates so high you'd think they weren't planning on eating again for another week. Service is as you'd expect from a place like this eg. The staff run around clearing the plates from the tables. I don't have any real complains about this place but it's no where near as special as all the other reviews on google.suggest. So in summary: Yes, it's fine as buffets go, but as an eating out experience I'd day it's...
