Popped in before the ferry to Gigha for a cake and coffee and it was lovely as were the staff. Unfortunately, can't say the same for the way back.
Last orders for food was 1500 so we got the ferry that arrived at 1450 and were in the cafe and queue by 1455 (know this is still quite tight!), we were 2nd (of 2) in the queue and the couple ahead must have taken 30 secs too long to decide as we were then told, very bluntly, no more food. Despite being sat at a table and then in the queue before 1500...
Having worked on hospitality we understand the importance of having a last orders. But being 2nd of 2 in the queue before the last orders and the people in front just taking 'too long' (they didn't, and not their fault of course!) Isn't why there's a last orders. If we came in after 1500, or equally, if there was a queue out the door then that's both fair enough.
Whole thing just felt rude, unwelcoming, and as if they didn't need nor want the custom.
Shame given then lovely experience...
