Came here for lunch with the other half after a morning trip around Deeside. The food was very tasty and well presented. The staff were extremely friendly, however, there weren't enough of them to deal with the number of customers. There was also a distinct lack of any form of queueing system when it came time to pay. When we eventually found our way to the till it took quite a while because all the staff were busy bussing plates around. Overall I would go back, but only on a quieter day.

Great wee niche cafe/restaurant. The food is all fresh and from sustainable sources. I had the twice baked parmesan souffle, it was delicious!! Now, I'm no great lover of salads (rabbit food) but the accompaniment for this dish was just great, tasty, crunchy. Tina had the coastal board and she was over the moon with it. Reasonably priced and sitting outside, in September, in Scotland, is a definite bonus.

Went for Mother's day. Food was excellent. I had cheese soufflé it was perfect. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They are licensed as well which I hadn't realised. There was also a man singing and playing the guitar which made it even more special. Superb views of clachnaben and Scolty Hill. Definitely recommend. Staff were super as well. Menu had nice variety.

We had a very disappointing lunch today. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. The waitress was apologetic, but we may have waited even longer had I not asked. My vegetable hot pot was a very salty lentil Dahl served with a spoon, and did have the consistancy of a soup. Did not enjoy this at all and left most of it. My daughter and her partner could hardly get their knives through the bread in the sandwich, however had just driven from Edinburgh and were hungry, so they ate it. The children's lunch looked very unappetising. They picked at theirs. The bill came to £67. All in all I would say, it was not good value. Very unpleasant, extremely busy and incredibly noisy. Sorry Woodend Barn would...

Very long wait for two main courses which arrived on a hot plate but the food was tepid and frankly uninspiring and overpriced. Wont be again. I also note that the menu online gives no indication that certain dishes are only available up to a certain time. I had hoped to order a sharing platter with my daughter but was presented with a set menu sheet - choice of three starter, three main, three sweet almost £15 for one course only. I have worked in catering and was more than surprised at the haphazard appearance of plates of food to tables that had come in to the bistro some time...
