Well hello folks travellers friends Barry allan here reviewer and as you will know huge foodie what can I say about the bistro my friend cannon lynsay and I popped by and I have to say it was only for cake and coffee but the coffee so lovely and the cake mmmm lovely fresh chocolatey cake it was fabulous but the thing that really made me smile and will ensure I go back for a proper meal was the two lovely lady's serving us they were so very lovely and friendly I accidentally dropped the heart adorning my cup into my coffee haha no problem it was fixed in an instant they were so nice and we really enjoyed the lovely surroundings and views it was such a nice place and I will definitely go back so if your in banchory pop by for a really relaxing warm friendly time thankyou...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing lunch today. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken. The waitress was apologetic, but we may have waited even longer had I not asked. My vegetable hot pot was a very salty lentil Dahl served with a spoon, and did have the consistancy of a soup. Did not enjoy this at all and left most of it. My daughter and her partner could hardly get their knives through the bread in the sandwich, however had just driven from Edinburgh and were hungry, so they ate it. The children's lunch looked very unappetising. They picked at theirs. The bill came to £67. All in all I would say, it was not good value. Very unpleasant, extremely busy and incredibly noisy. I also note that the menu online gives no indication that certain dishes are only available up to a certain time. I had hoped to order a sharing platter with my daughter but was presented with a set menu sheet - choice of three starter, three main, three sweet almost £15 for one course only. I have worked in catering and was more than surprised at the haphazard appearance of plates of food to tables that had come in to the bistro some time...
