Winter ball . Wednesday28th Dec 2016 Menu was not good. We were not able to know what the menu was until the actual night!!!!!!! Soup was spicy butternut squash. So thin, and tasteless except from the kick of chilli. Couldn't eat it Main meal. No choice unless you were vegetarian . A few vegetable, well presented with a couple of potatoes squashed on plate to look more, and a piece of "CHUCK "braised steak. Dessert. Sticky toffee or cheese and biscuits. Cheese was thinly cut and I mean thinly sliced. 3 oatcakes and chilli jam. This was passable. Vegetarian option was sweet corn fritters with mashed potatoes???????? The drinks are extremely extortionate in price There were 11 of us . 5 left their soup, 8 left their main meal. Dessert eaten. Staff serving us were lovely, helpful, and certainly willing to please. Sorry chart room Michael buble tribute night saved us from leaving earlier than we did.Quite a few left during the evening which allowed us plenty of room on the dance floor. We did leave early also as it was not the best evening. I do think the menu should have been out prior to the event to allow people the opportunity to decide if it was for them and make alternative arrangements with the staff. So disappointed overall. Would certainly think twice now about...

We were a group of 4 motorcyclists (2 of us from Northern Ireland, 1 from England and 1 from South Africa) returning from a Bike Rally and we were staying overnight in Inverkip... Being Mother's Day we were very surprised but grateful that The Chartroom Restaurant was able to offer us a Table at extremely short notice given how busy they were. The Staff were all very welcoming and chatty and although we were the only table of 'Males Only', we didn't feel at all uneasy... Even though all tables appeared fully seated, the layout felt very spacious. We were at a lovely table and can honestly say the vista of the Marina and sea from within the restaurant was beautiful. Even though the restaurant was full, we still had the panoramic view through the glass fronted dining area which all customers could enjoy from their tables.. The restaurant was very busy and full of people, chatting and laughter, yet it didn't feel at all overwhelming nor too loud. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, the food was excellent and the pints went down well too... Good Luck to the new owners who are working hard and have produced a great atmosphere to relax in ... Everyone there seemed to be having a great evening and it's due to the overall package and service. Visit and You shouldn't be...

Last week, my family and I went to this restaurant for a simple family trip. The place appears to be average, nothing spectacular, and very basic, in stark contrast to the breathtaking view that contributes for 80% of the overall appearance. The service was bad, with workers who did not make eye contact with guests, did not smile, and seemed uninterested. The only exceptions were a tall man wearing a black shirt and having light brown hair, and a waitress with very dark hair and eyebrows who was always smiling, cheerful, and adorable. The primary concern was the food: my husband's burger tasted dairy ingredients, such as a mix of milk and batter, something very strange and extremely unusual. It was hard to taste any beef on it; I'm curious to know how they make it. Furthermore, the food presentation in general appears to be rather boring, like a jumble of ingredients and garnishes with little effort put in by the chefs. We never mentioned to our server any issues because the entire experience was so negative that we will never return anyway. I just find it strange that a venue like this can host weddings. I wouldn't want to be served substandard food by unhappy employees on a wedding day. Thanks...

This restaurant is an excellent place to visit if you’re around Kip. Not only does it have spectacular views of the marina and surrounding hills outside through the glass walls, but there is outside seating too if you feel like it. We got the combo starter for £15 and it turned out to not only be tasty but excellent value for money, it easily was a good size starter even when shared amongst the three of us (all men over 6 foot), and could probably even be shared amongst four and still be perfectly adequately sized. The main meals we ordered were all delicious too. I ordered a king prawn salad, usually when I ordered such a thing I expect too few prawns to satisfy me, but that was certainly not the case here. Plenty of big, juicy prawns in a lovely salad. My companions also greatly enjoyed their meals. By the end we were all so full that desert was completely out of the question; but I suspect they too would have been good. Highly recommended! Good for children and adults alike. There was even a wedding happening there in one of the adjoining rooms; this place host quite a few weddings as it really is very lovely there. I’ve been eating here since 1997 and it’s never disappointed me yet.

Only stopped for coffee and enjoyed this outside with the views of marina . Nice friendly staff. Lovely to see that dogs are welcome outside but didn't like that one was seated on bench beside its owner and was being allowed to sniff at table. Wouldn't really want to be sitting there after doggy left. I did say to a member of staff but his reply was that people do this!!!! As I said happy that dogs are allowed but definitely not to be seated or allowed to touch table ......

Not only were the food and views fantastic, the service was outstanding. Turned up without a booking and they seated us quickly and easily, the staff were very attentive and even entertaining our toddler. After a delicious main meal for 3 of us, 2 desserts and a few drinks the £50 bill was a welcome surprise! Would definitely return again and can’t thank the team enough for a lovely evening. Our toddler played in the park after as well which looks like a pirate ship!
