Update: We've eaten here many times now for breakfast and lunch and it really is excellent. Personally, I prefer it for breakfast ie Sunday roast though. There are a few options for veggies and more for carnivores - especially on the lunch menu (I stick to the cheese toastie for lunch which is a good size, though I would love to see a veggie burger on the menu too). For breakfast, the vegetarian breakfast bake is something different to the regular offerings of Linda McCartney Sausages or egg rolls that you find pretty much everywhere else and the poached eggs on toast are the best I've had without question. The staff are attentive, though it can take some time to get seated at busy points of the day so reserving ahead is recommended. We spend between £20 and £30 per visit for the two of us depending on the time of day that we visit. Don't be put off by the car park charge either, as a code is provided upon request for customers that will allow you to exit for free - just remember that it is a one way car park though (I've twice met people exiting through the entrance as I have been coming in). Dogs are welcome and get added to a wall of fame and there is an outdoor area which is very popular when the weather allows. Parking is ample and there are fantastic walks/ biking routes on the doorstep for walking off the meal. Keep an eye out for deer in the field opposite and the occasional hare on the footpaths. If you head up to the viewpoint in Tamfourhill Wood between April and August, the Highland cows are likely to be in the field with their calves too! If you get a cake (much recommended) or coffee to take away, please put your litter in the bin in the car park though - I've picked up a few coffee cups on my walks of the woods.

Cafe Canada Wood is an absolute gem nestled in serene greenery—a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and beautifully set in nature, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing meal. The food was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care, while the service was truly exceptional—friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. One of the best parts, especially for those driving in, is parking. There's ample space available, and it’s free, which adds to the overall convenience. The car park is well-maintained and just a short, pleasant walk to the café. It made the entire visit hassle-free and enjoyable right from the moment we arrived. We ordered different varieties of brunch options and lunch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, peaceful surroundings, and a stress-free experience from start to finish. --- Would you like to customize this further based on a specific visit or dish you loved?

Could have been really nice, unfortunately service was pretty poor, haven't seen a waitress walk past a table full of glasses with empty hands and not take them away for a long time. Wrong main course delivered and when correct one arrived it had been microwaved and was tongue burning hot, couldn't touch the plate, could feel the heat on my face. Due to the coldness of the drink the glass was continually dripping I asked for a beer mat a couple of times and eventually got a paper napkin. Waitress in charge was unable to change Moretti barrel, got offered a free drink when it came back on line though. Not asked if we wanted dessert not shown the dessert blackboard, my wife had to go to the bar to ask for ice cream and I had to go to the bar to ask for the bill. First time in many years I have not left at least a 10% tip. We had visited a few weeks ago for lunch and it was great so w decided to go for dinner, a disappointment. We got the impression the boss was away and things were a little...

Edit: back again in March 2022. I have to share because again our experience is amazing. Staff are probably the biggest draw card to this cafe for me. Every time someone goes out of their way to help, and offer something to our kids to make our whole experience better. Food is also brilliant. I can't fault anything. If you haven't been yet - GO!!! 😘

Edit: first review was 6 months ago but we've been back and still love it as much. Staff are excellent. There this time with our noisy 1 y/o. Staff asked and made suggestions that weren't on the menu for him - basically up-sold us!! 😄 But made our experience better because she was aiming to please. ⭐⭐⭐

1st review: Loved it! Beautiful spot. Plenty of parking. Looks like it gets busy so phone to book. Two adults and three kids for lunch. We sat outside and managed to avoid the rain. Great friendly service. Nothing seemed like a problem. Delicious lunch that came out reasonably fast. Looking forward to...
