Xmas dinner for us was a disaster , gave our table to wrong group, service was slow, had to wait too long for buffet that no vegetables , Yorkshire pudding , pigs in blankets or potatoes were ready had to just take what was available. Ordered drinks waited 45 mins asked for bill and extra £55 had been added from a drinks bill we had already paid , took 20 minutes of them accusing us of not paying until another waitress confirmed we had. Service, management food and the way we were treated and spoken to was atrocious never ever again . Ruined Xmas dinner for us all
Firstly why was your response to me as Dear Readers ?
Secondly I am disappointed that you have given an untrue response to my review , but I didnāt expect anything else. When we said the table was for a certain name you showed us to a table with people already on it , and said this is your ladies table we said no thatās not her, you argued with us and said yes it is we know the lady and kept arguing until we said no this is her sister , you had given our table away to the wrong person , you give us her table with 4 chairs too much and added 4 extra chairs to the other table, the table we got wasnāt the problem it was the arguing beforehand us stating that is not our group and being told yes it is we know her, when clearly you got it all wrong . It could have been funny if it wasnāt for your adamantly arguing with us.
We waited and waited for service to order drinks and eventually had to find someone to come serve us , we placed our order and my son said can I pay for this , he was told to do so at the bar.
You did NOT give us a Ā£30 deposit back a deposit of Ā£110 was given 8 of us ate so we paid for 6 dinners plus Ā£30 drinks bill no reduction at all. You overcharged us Ā£54 for drinks we had already paid for and argued for 20 mins until you realised you were wrong and gave it back in cash as my husband hadnāt checked the bill before paying with card .
You did NOT come to the table with carrots and pigs in blankets you came to the table with sausages that didnāt look cooked so we said no thank you . Your server behind the buffet said thereās pigs in blankets without the blankets ha ha
We waited and waited for veg and what came out eventually was hard and uncooked , most of us didnāt get veg , we were halfway through just what we had on our plates before veg arrived at the Buffett . We were told you couldnāt get it quicker because you had to wait for space in your ovens .
One person waited ages for starter , 1 person waited ages for desert. We asked to make drinks order no one came so my husband had to go order at the bar.
I so wish you hadnāt responded the way you did , but then again after the way you treated us Iām not suprised , we mentioned all of the above when paying the bill and you stood just looking at us , not a word said about the lack Of food on offer you just stared at us !! But you had plenty to say when it came to you trying to make us pay twice for a round of drinks disbelieving us until a waitress confirmed we were telling the truth .
As I said not the best of Xmas day dinner and celebrations, which is a shame because the meat skirlie and gravy was nice just a shame we didnāt get the rest to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery sad to leave an unfavourable review but we were very disappointed with our overall experience. Been looking forward to trying the new Cammie's since before it had opened but was left bemused and disheartened.
We pre-booked and arrived on time, restaurant wasn't busy for being a Friday 5:30pm booking, shown to our seats and not given a menu for a good while, luckily we had already chosen before arrival so were quick to order after we had menus. We were then left for a lengthy wait and eventually the server returned to say that there would still be an even longer wait for our meals (would have been nice to know when ordering, if our order choices had a delay then we could've picked an alternative of a quicker option). An hour and a half later we finally got our meals. The risotto and linguine were nice but definitely not worth the wait.
We were disheartened but still trying to make the best of it and we kept it friendly and polite. Had another long wait to get the dishes cleared and were not offered the option for dessert or refreshments. We had run out of time just with one course. Then we had to chase down a server to request our bill and collect the takeaway meal we had pre-ordered with themselves earlier, only to be met with yet another wait and finally then to be told that there had been a "miscommunication" in the kitchen and our takeaway meal had been given to another customer and they had nothing left. No apologies or offers for any kind of good will gesture. We paid our bill and there was not even a "thank you" or "have a good evening" or any kind of parting niceties.
Bit of advice to the new business, I understand that there will be teething problems and new staff/servers/food requirement estimations, but please keep your customers informed in a much quicker timely manner, if there's an issue, own up to it and try and offer alternatives to help the situation. Don't just hide away and bury your head...
Ā Ā Ā Read more"Oh what fun" the staff Christmas jumpers had it right... Christmas lunch was an utter shambles! The chairs were faulty and legs ready to collapse when sat on, the table wobbled, only one fork and knife for a 3 course meal and that was just the start. The starters came out fine but no one knew which was the different types of pate were. The main was carvery but we were told twice to sit back down as they were topping things up, not a problem, but you think the fresh food would be warm. All for plates of food was freezing cold and had to be microwaved. We asked for another round of drinks 4 times and had to go and collect this ourselves from the bar after 30 minutes of waiting for a pint and a cranberry and soda.
The waiters were running around (one literally fell on his bottom) but no one had a clue where anything went, they'd walk around with starters/drinks/pudding to the wrong table several times, this showed the utter chaos and no organisation. Several drinks were spilled, glasses broken and the spilt drinks just sat on the floor despite small children running around (extremely dangerous). A waitress was far more concerned what her child was doing (not a paid guest but just a small child with clearly no where else to go) than serving paying customers. She also walked around without shoes on for the majority of our meal, very unhygienic. This was not the relaxing Christmas out we had planned for.
I spoke with the manager at this point, who listened to my disappointment and said she would speak to staff then come back to my table to compensate. She never came back and the bill was not compensated. We had to ask for our pudding twice and the bill 4 times and eventually went to the bar to pay our bill.
Not one person had a clue what was going on today and this really showed. Utter chaos on Christmas day. Despite being previous regular customers, we will...
