Dinner for 2 - Saturday night Restaurant was not full but the service really ruined the evening for us. Initial drinks order was only taken after 15minutes of waiting. Looking around it was clear to see many empty glasses on several of the tables. Mushroom starter was good, Noodle starter was not great no sign of any chili, garlic or lime as mentioned on the menu. When plates were cleared we were not asked how the food was. The drinks menu on the table was full of finger prints made by someone with food all over their hands. Food menus were also sticky. Main course took over 30 minutes to arrive, our drinks were empty in this time. Table behind us got another round of drinks which where put down next to empty glasses - table was never cleared. There is one waitress with long hair and glasses who kept wandering to the bar to look at her phone or play with her hair, she was really disinterested in serving it appeared. The lack of attention and slap dash attitude of staff was really disappointing. The main course was great but unfortunately the service let the restaurant down and for that reason we will not be returning. Some basic staff training is needed...

I took my mum for lunch this Sunday. The place was quiet but very nice inside. Well laid out, clean and nicely decorated. It also had good comfortable seating. I had Steak Pie with puff pastry top, Veg, and mashed potatoes. My mother had Macaroni and chips with veg. We also had desert of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream to finish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and our desert. I had tons of meat in a lovely gravy sauce. It was tender and really tasty. My mother also commented on how much she liked the macaroni and cheese dish. Yes only standard pub grub some might say, but it was all very good quality and we cleaned our plates. I really couldn't find anything to complain about. usually theres something maybe not so great but this was perfect. Even the veg was perfectly cooked. We were surprised how light the desert was too and didn't feel even slightly over full at the end. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. We like to try different places, and this is one place we'll certainly have no problem coming back to. ...

Haven't been back since covid so decided to have a rare night out, chose canalside as last time food was good, scallop starter was a joke to say the least wanted to send both back as myself and my partner both had this starter, but my partner didn't want to make a fuss, scallops were tiny, and black pudding CRUMB was like tiny pieces of grit in the plate over cooked and crunchy, very unpleasant and at £9.50 was an absolute disgrace, mentioned to waitress to tell management but not acknowledged, then the main, I had pie of the day which was steak pie, completely overseasoned which was very off putting best thing on the plate was the mash, chicken satay was dry,but peri peri chips were good, when my partner went to pay bill he voiced his concerns to manager who responded will pass it onto the kitchen, first time since being taken over will NOT be back still drinking water hours later due to salt overload in steak pie,DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH,if your a decent cook...

Such a lovely place. We've passed by so many times but we were looking for some where different to go with my mother-in-law and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The staff were lovely. The food was fantastic. I'd never heard of a Sri Lankan beetroot curry but it was so delicious. My mother-in-law had the ceaser salad and it was so fresh and she really enjoyed it. My husband had a burger which was massive and great. The puddings were fantastic. I love cheesecake and this was the best I've had in a long time. The food reasonably priced and I think superb value for the quality of the food. The decor is lovely, modern and open. There's a fire in the middle of the lounge that I want to go back and see in the winter. This is a fantastic place and you can drive by and not think to much about it but I highly recommend making the effort to stop in.

Staff were lovely and welcoming. Beautiful place to have a meal/drinks. Food was okay. Calamari was rubbery and a very small portion for the price. It was served with deep fried veg which was odd and wasn't pleasant. Chips weren't crispy and tasted like oil. Burger was very pink in the middle. We weren't asked if we were okay with that. It wasnt very flavoursome, had to add bbq Sause. The roll wasn't toasted so went soggy with the red juices of the burger. The chicken starter tasted like oil and The haggis balls were soggy in the middle. Over all we feel the oil wasn't hot enough and hadn't been changed in some time. The food was over priced for the portion sizes and quality presented. We will definitely be back for drinks but sadly not food.

Phenomenal food, great atmosphere. Went here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary, and don't regret that! Cheesecake was delicious - to be honest, was too big for me 😂 main courses are really, really good, waiters are patient even for greedy customers as we - but one disadvantage, they have very limited range of warm, alcoholic drinks, and they don't offer mulled wine, what was a little pain for us as my girlfriend had sore throat. Prices are very good as for a quite quality place In overall, I really recommend this restaurant, and will be more than happy to get back here!
