This place is to die for / amazing! Worth Every Penny! First there are ONLY 2 seatings 6pm or 8pm. They DO NOT TAKE WALK IN'S! So make sure you reserve a spot as they only make enough food for those reserved!! They had people show up and be turned away because they did not make a reservation and hence not enough food available for them. It's a heck of a drive for some but will be worth every penny I assure you. GPS is best used and mark my words when it says you are there you may still have to go about a mile up the road. it's in the oddest place but all the better for it. Just word to wise... It's not quite over when GPS says it is. LOL My best friend and I were vacationing, and we would normally do a "Tea" as that has always been our thing for vacations. However, being in the last few days of vacation we decided to both try something a bit different and opted to make a reservation here, Vegetarian with Tea pairing 3 course service. It was the best thing ever! She is a Vegetarian and I am not but I tried it anyway and so very glad I did! ~ Place ~ * Simple, relaxed, cottage meets zen all in one! * Relaxing if not meditative music & ambiance.. ~ Service ~ * The owner does the cooking and she has one server that helps her. (At least day we were there) * There are only 7 tables, if memory serves me correctly. * They have been open 2 years from what I am told. * Dinners are paced do NOT go and expect to be rushed! * Menu and teas were explained and placement, and service were excellent, friendly, and well paced ~ Food ~ * Teas of theirs seem to get you added zen while adding refinement, enhancement of meals & Tea's by pairing, as well as palette prepping & cleansing. The Tea pairings are your "rest stops" along your journey through the world of the food /palette. * Food is well portioned, presented, and arranged so as to give one plenty of time to be Present and in the moment as well as bringing an alert yet relaxed awareness of both the food & self. How they taste, merge between them and between you and them. Food is the path along your journey, the hills, mountains, streams, waterfalls, heat and the cold. * Dessert is your final destination of all your journey so far. This will rock your world. This will be your final destination after all that inward self reflecting, thanking the gods & goddesses that you work with for the beauty of the experience, the reflection of the present and having the mirrored reflection of this wonderful experience. This is the peak or climax of your meal and boy is it a doozy! Once you finish you will be so sad... 🤣 Especially if like us you discovered them at the end of your trip! I can't recommend this enough. If you aren't vegetarian but wish to try something different I highly recommend it. If you are a vegetarian then you will probably rank this within your #1 place to eat here on this side of the world I would imagine.

Superb vegetarian dining experience. Everything about this tiny remote restaurant is exceptional. We booked a few weeks prior to arriving in Skye (which I’d highly recommend, as it’s quite a small restaurant). I’m vegetarian, and discovered Chidakasha online whilst looking for dining options in Skye. I love the concept of tea pairings; which isn’t as popular in the UK as it is in Asian countries. We arrived a little late (from Portree) because of sheep on the roads at various points - who were quite enjoying themselves and in no rush to move! Despite being 15 minutes late, they were very accommodating, and we definitely didn’t feel rushed. The ambiance of Chidakasha is magical, as soon as you walk in, you know that you’re somewhere special; the decor, lighting and background music are all designed to give you a sense of calmness and wellbeing. A lot of thought and love have gone into this beautiful restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the tea pairings were excellent. Fabulous and memorable dining experience. Even my son (who’s resistant to any food resembling or containing vegetables!) really enjoyed the food too. Highly recommended.

Just stunning! My absolute perfect meal 💚Delicious, tasty and made with care & love. I had the delicious red lentil soup, which made me SO happy. Real comfort food. Perfectly spiced. It was yummy with the baked sourdough that you could tell was made with a really good starter. Next was the baked eggplant which was perfect with the fragrant chickpea rice and something that really elevated the dish was the kale chiffonade which was these ribbons of kale in this yummy balanced sweet & sour sauce (almost like chutney). For dessert I had the raw cashew, pear and strawberry tart with black current leaf granita…. Wow one of the best raw cashew desserts I’ve ever had. Loved the texture and the flavours in the granita was very unique and sweet but the whole dessert together wasn’t overly sweet which I love. The teas were also awesome! My fave one was the rose tea, but also loved the white chinese tea. The service was so good, we had a very friendly french server who gave us a wonderful tip to visit another place on our travels as we head towards the outer Hebrides. Cannot recommend enough! Book now and enjoy 😊.

Every dish was beautifully executed. The cavalcade of flavours were mesmerising but perfectly balanced. The cooking was flawless. This is obviously someone that loves and cares for every ingredient that goes into the dish. Even using locally foraged products for both the menu and some of the teas. The food truly stood up to a lot of michelin starred and bib gourmanded (I don't know what the verb is for that, but let's go with that for now) meals.

To top it all off, the ambience was just sublime. The owner and staff worked with such calm and ease that it created the most peaceful and comfortable of environments. The music was so perfectly selected. The decor so painstakingly and lovingly creative. This made Chidakasha the hardest place to leave on the planet I think.

Hands down the best place we ate in Skye. Nowadays, we are so spoiled with the quality of cooking in this country, that sometimes it is not simply just about the quality of the food, but everything else that goes with it that makes a restaurant a truly stand-out experience.

Chidakasha hit the nail on the head on every front and aspect that one desires from a restaurant, and we have come away from this confidently being able to say that this was the best dining experience we...
