Wonderful staff and location let down by the food, unfortunately the meals have been disappointing. This may have just been bad luck Have had four different meals ,all of varying quality! What suits one may not suit others. If drinking outside you are only allowed to use very cheap flexible plastic glasses! Again this may be ok to some. We are trying lunch as opposed to dinner and hopefully we will find the quality satisfactory as others have
Due to response by manager, we cancelled our further visit with friends. The whole response was totally out of all context. The Pork Loins did NOT say 'in' creamy apple sauce, see the menu...we assumed it was an accompaniment in a side dish as is usual with pork My wife did not want to wait for another meal as my meal was served.
I do not think 2 pensioners are likely to break glasses outside without clearing or reporting it.
I forgot to put my mask on as we have got used to not wearing them in England in bars and restaurants and as Angela asked if there was something wrong with me ,i.e. are you excempt? I said no Im English and we dont have to wear them ,that is why I forgot. and finally, on the Sunday, Angela asked if we enjoyed our meal and before we could answer she said she had the beef which was good and we just nodded and said yes. We didnt want to cause any problems, as the meal was acceptable but not...
Read moreMy partner wanted to Visit here after looking for a place to eat on google. I was not that keen but so pleased we did.
The pub is a small pub with a bar separate to the dining room. The dining room is not the biggest but it’s comfy and has a little unique feel. It’s clean and tidy. Had a log burner and just feels nice.
The staff. We were served by a young g lady who was dressed as harry potter I think as it’s near to Halloween. She was friendly, polite and full of smiles.
The food. WOW THE FISH AND CHIPS WERE OUT OF THIS WORLD. The fish was so tender and juicy, the chips were perfect crispy and so fluffy inside.
My partner had Chicken topped with haggis and a slice of smoky bacon and peppercorn sauce, mash and veg on the side. She thought it was fantastic and to say she doesn’t like haggis eat every bit.
We really enjoyed every bite eaten.
By the way the views outside are amazing, it would be fantastic here in the summer
Thank you for a lovely meal and...
Read moreThe place was booked up so as an on the day booking we were pleased to get a table at the start of the evening. Menu is comprehensive offering fresh seafood choices, steak ,lamb etc . The Service was good . The only disappointment was their Pie menu .. not the choice of fillings as there are lot to chose from, but what they and a lot of pubs and restaurants describe as a pie i.e. a dish of filling with, in this case , a choice of pastry on the top. This is ok when a pie is one choice on a menu but when a place has a Pie menu page, you would hope the pie to be a proper pie with pastry encasing the filing on all sides. Fortunately the question was asked...
