Do not believe the advertising!! Way over priced for low quality food... seriously go to Wetherspoon's, instead of this!! We tried out the local Brewers Fayre for breakfast sucked in by misleading inaccurate advertising...We saw what looked to be a good range of traditional hot and continental breakfast options served buffet style..a in for 9.99, 7.99 just continental. Not worth 1.99!! Unfortunately the whole array of meant to be hot and or cold offerings ranged from mediocre in taste and quality to edible but taste akin to tepid bad fast food breakfasts, to downright nasty in taste, over cooking, quality and presentation. The continental menu states fresh fruit salad, daily baked croissants and pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt range ,different cereals, American pancakes....the whole continental be ffet section looked drab, unappetising and did not give off sense of freshness or quality. The fruit salad appeared so unpleasant just on presentation itself.. small bowl of few grapes, strawberries, orange all mushy and tbh did not look fresh enough to eat. Do we didnt. Do called American pancakes consisted of what were clearly Scottish made pancakes that you buy in supermarket to eat gold usually...lying out near s large not very clean toaster, that you have to heat yourself along with toast if you want it. not that pancakes ,and toast similar, were more than tepid despite the effort and waiting till cycle completed. Daily pastries....bought daily from your corner shop maybe..or defrosted from their Freezer...mini pain au Chocolat n so called mini Danish... again had yo hear yourself but pointless for this toaster thing...tasted hit crunchy on outside stale elsewhere.. and we were there early on. Unable to eat any of these after a bite. Low quality and just a fake taste, too sweet, too dry. Cereals I think had 2 options, cornflakes and nasty looking muesli. Very poor quality fruit juices. The only fruit available was a couple too ripe bsnanas , bit bruised apple...poss orange too. No granola or bran flake based cereals, and literally non local non good quality yoghurt, only strawberry available. On to hot food....this needs ordered, not buffet style...which was grateful to see after feeling the gold buffet section was not the freshest of cleanest looking area. Even coffee machine needed a good scrub. Ordered most items, but server made error and I failed to get bacon, and no Bubble n squeak actually available despite being on menu... same with hash brown and sg else I can't recall.now... the mushrooms may have been tinned...certainly had been heated or cooled in butter, not my preference at breakfast. Tomatoes were hard, watery and tasted neatly of nothing but water. As sages ok, jot good quality and taste meant they edible bit nothing more. Indeed,I couldn't finish them,or much of anything sadly. The coffee was nice. The service was alright...other than taking order down wrongly..wasn't waiting for new bacon etc..just wanted to get ordeal over and done with to be honest! For all that tasteless ,lack lustre food we paid 9.50 GBP each. Utter daylight robbery I guarantee it!! We will never go back for any kind of food at brews fayre sadly...we can enjoy a we cooked brekkie from Wetherspoon's godbless than half the price, which we quite enjoy, and find the place far cleaner with better service and an accurate, flexible menu. Yes the quality isn't becc great there either on sonevjtrns, but cost is in line with that, and so many options you can discover what you enjoy and make your personal version of a scottish breakfast .mine includes veggie sausage as prefer bttr quality sausage but enjoy the rest. Their pancakes are much better quality too...not the real McCoy but much tastier, warm and not overly sweet maple syrup, unlike brewers fayre. Please just take my word for it...it's really bad. Do not waste your money and better off getting bacon to out of Gregg's than go here...if there's not a wee traditional cafe or Wetherspoon's close to you,! I was genuinely concerned about getting I'll from the good and poor...
Read moreAt the bar a woman approached the only member of staff working at 9.40 she asked for desserts then a list of coffees she was advised the coffee machine was already cleaned and closed down for tonight as its a self pour coffee machine. The only girl still working the whole floor and bar at this point, I could hear the girl behind the bar explain why there wasnt anymore coffee for the night very politely the woman then repeated well she still wanted the desserts and one coffee then, very rudely. The girl again explained no coffee was doable and the woman turned to her and told her it was her job to make her a coffee and to go get a kettle! Again in a very rude manner it was shocking. The woman was very rude to the girl and advised she would take the dessert order but couldnt do anything about the coffee and didn't want to serve HER anymore as she was rude and degrading The woman went back to her seat and carried on for around 1 hour, Nobody else from the table approached the bar for any last order but I seen when they were leaving and the girl started to clean up some of the group approached her to ask her something I heard her advise in a very polite manner that registration of the car was the procedure and should follow to prevent any fines. For no reason one member a man in the group started to shout at her and act aggressively screaming in her face when another member of the public intervened and told the man he was completely out of order and that they should leave, most of the group by now were all around the girl. A mixture of men and woman of all ages it didn't seem a very fair position for the girl to be in. I overheard these people say they would leave a review so I thought best to do aswell, the young girl working tonight was lovely and great at her job I've seen her here working on many occasions. Always chirpy and upbeat shes the one with...
Read moreLeft extremely angry. Booked for my wife's birthday dinner with our two young children. Turned up and waited a couple of minutes to been seen and told coldly we had no reservation. My wife showed the booking email to the waitress and no apology just a snappy reply I'll fit you in. Given a tiny table next to the back door, there where bigger 4 seater tables left empty for the whole of our stay. Took our drinks order quickly but gave us the wrong drinks so had to wait. Took 30 minutes for food order to be taken after my wife got up to ask for somebody to take our order. Heard the table next to us complain their food order was wrong and they were moaning of the wait they had. After 15 minutes two small wedges of garlic bread arrived for our girls. After our girls finished there small piece of garlic bread we waited a further 30 minutes for our carvery to arrive. The order was wrong the waitress was rude and unprofessional, she took our plates and said she would fix it, we said no as we had now been in the restaurant for over 1hr20 mins with only two small wedges of garlic bread for the girls in this time asked to cancel the order. It wasn't busy in their restaurant when my wife went over to ask for our order to be taken the waitresses were busy gossiping to each other. When we were leaving a customer went over to the till to be snapped at by the waitress what you wanting, the customer replied to pay unless you want us to walk out with out paying . when we left the manager didn't look happy with us but in the 1hr 20 minutes we waited it was the first time we seen him. Unprofessional and rude staff, I've worked in the industry for over 20 years and never seen service like this, felt like an episode of gorden ramsay...
