I had a disappointing experience at this cafe due to poor customer service. We were informed there would be a roughly 20-minute wait for a table. After waiting and returning exactly 20 minutes later, we were met with a chaotic scene where people were blocking the door.

Just before we entered, I heard my name shouted, but when we finally managed to get inside by squeezing past the people blocking the door, a nonchalant staff member informed me that our table had been given away without a hint of an apology. Instead of addressing the situation kindly, he simply stated, "I just shouted your name."

We were then told to wait in a cramped space while he continued to serve other customers and process payments. After several minutes, he rudely instructed us to wait outside again. The lack of basic courtesy and acknowledgment of the mistake was unacceptable. A simple apology would have made a world of difference. It felt like he was smugly aware that there aren't many dining options in Crail, making it clear he didn't feel the need to treat customers with respect.

Overall, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope they can improve their customer service for...

we went today.

they were unfriendly towards me and my friend when i came with my 9 week old baby. she started screaming and i was in a stressful situated having to change her nappy, on my travel mat and, outside. the head waitress came and was rude about it whilst i was trying to clam her. if they had an issue, politness would have been simple. there toilet was busy and my child was upset. the member of staff continued in giving us cold attitude and feltunwelcome and uncomfortable. i did not even leabe my baby to go to the toilet in case she was upsetagain. the other customers did not mind us and understood that it was astressful situation. they even smiled when i apologised aftershe clamed down. her upset stage only lasted 30 seconds.

we continued to have food there as we had just settled down to sit.

i will never visit again. the worst thing was that we went looking for this particular cafe to have a meal.

the experience left...

The views from here are stunning and we have stopped in for many years. However today on our wedding anniversary we visited and had a really bad experience. We sat outside, where only two of the 10 tables were occupied due to pretty blustery and grey weather. We tried to order a couple of times but were told rather brusquely to wait. After 25 minutes waiting, an older lady came over who had been quite vocally upset with a group behind us who had moved the tables, she then told us that we couldn’t sit where we were and would have to move. We would’ve happily done so, though as I said there were literally only 2 other tables occupied outside. But she made us feel really uncomfortable and it has left us in a funny mood. Such a shame that somewhere we have loved so much for so many years can make you feel like that and sadly I don’t think we...

I would have afforded more stars but the owner is terribly offhand and sour looking. An elderly couple sat outside with the sea view waiting for takeaway ice-cream when they were told in no uncertain terms that they'd only paid for takeaway & shouldn't be sitting where they were. They explained she'd said wait outside by the tables. She didn't specify the front of the cafe. There are no seats by these tables. She was so offhand to them and I felt so sorry for them. She was then less than empathetic when a woman was in floods of tears looking for a lost phone. I could forgive the expensive prices but not the attitude. Awful. It's almost as if they are jealous of letting someone enjoy a sea view for a paltry 5 minutes or so. Avoid this place if you don't want attitude and overpriced food. They have a great view but enjoy the view & then go elsewhere.

We were travelling through Fife and decided to stop for lunch on the East Neuk of Fife. We were familiar with Crail and the quaint harbour, but had never been to the little gallery and cafe. The team were so welcoming and wanted us to feel at home. They were so great with the kids and the owner (I think) was so engaged with the kids and all the customers. I could not believe the seat and view across to the Isle of May, what a setting. The food came out quickly after ordering and we absolutely loved the coffee too. Our youngest can at times be fuzzy with food, so the owner suggested cucumbers as a snack, which he loves, so was very well received by us. A big thanks to the team for making it a perfect end to a nice Easter weekend in and around Fife. We will be back that's for sure 😃

This little spot is a gem. Beautiful views over the water from the space outside. Delicious, creative cakes and good tea. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for? We’ve stopped multiple times and enjoyed every one. The gallery is worth a look and the soups and scones are always delicious. Prices are very reasonable and tea or coffee is even served with a little piece of Scottish tablet. Dog friendly, at least outdoors (I haven’t asked about seating indoors because we’ve always wanted to sit outside for the best view!) The outdoor area is surrounded by blooming flowers and overlooks the sea. Keep an eye out for cormorants and fulmars swooping and diving in the waves. Very cozy, genuine spot that we will continue to visit.
