Da Vinci's cafe is well spaced out, I like the fact that the tables aren't too close together so you maintain your privacy. There is ample free parking opposite. The staff are welcoming and the place is very clean. There is a good choice on the menu of both hot and cold food and drinks, although a little pricey!

Eight of us met here for breakfast and a chat. Service was excellent. I had full breakfast, latte coffee, and carrot cake, delicious. Reasonable prices and a nice varied menu. I will return another day to try some lunch.

Amazing little hidden gem. Superb location and parking but the breakfast was outstanding especially the black pudding. Lovely place and staff too

Food comes in a reasonable time frame and does not feel too long. I have visited several times stretched over several years. I do not feel that any of the servers were ever rude and generally service is good. You get the odd one that is less engaging.

The good stuff:

The homemade soups are absolutely amazing. I like a soup so this is what I would normally get now when going. This is the best tasting dish on the menu in my opinion. Always excellent, my favourites are tomato and tomato & pepper. You generally have a choice of 2 soups on a day and they change. I would have that with a toastie which are generally nice. I would have chicken coronation as filling or sweet chilli chicken. Not a fan of the cajun & have not fancied any of the other fillings. These could be a lighter on the sauce/mayo.

The deserts are generally quite nice.

They also do iced coffees which is great and their coffee is nice. There is also a selection of tees which you can get a little pot of.

I had a veggie breakfast once which I enjoyed apart from the tatie scone which was drenched in oil so I left that behind.

The little salads and slaws on the side you get generally look fresh and taste ok to nice.

Pricing is ok.

The not so good stuff:

Didn't really enjoy the pasta dish I once had because it was just drenched in sauce. It was tasting ok. However, I have seen one since and it is less now. Someone I had lunch with mentioned that the cajun pasta is not as nice as it once was, something has changed, they will not be ordering that again.

Avoid the pizza if you like a good pizza. I only had it once and it is now years ago, so it might have changed but when I had it, the base was cakey (one of the worst bases I have ever tasted), it was drenched in cheddar cheese (oily), and not a fan of the sauce either.

I had a chicken burger once. It was served with bbq sauce which was not stated on the menu. Generally bland, scraped off the bbq sauce because I just cannot stand bbq sauce, and replaced it with coleslaw that was served on the side.

The medium stuff:

Not sure about the paninis. The one I had tasted ok. Just not a fan of the bread that is used. It's a part baked small baguette looking thing. More uniformly thick and flatter would be better - less bready. Not the end of the world just not what I expect from a panini and will not get that again.

All in all, I give 3 stars and that is mostly due to the amazing...

I have been a regular customer of this establishment over the years and have always enjoyed anything I have ordered. It pains me therefore to have to leave such a negative review. We arrived for lunch today and ordered three food items including a tuna sandwich, toastie and toasted cajun wrap. When our food came, the tuna sandwich was dry and tasteless. The side salad had no dressing and there was no coleslaw. The reason I mention this is because this had always been the case before. The plate just seems dry and bland without these things. The wrap came with very little cajun flavour and we thought it was just chicken mayo. It was returned. When the replacement came, it was cold and only slightly warm. The cajun spice on this occasion was extremely salty and so much so that with no exaggeration, it was literally inedible. When I went to pay, I did inform the girl at the till of my disappointment and showed her the plate of food which couldn't be eaten. I was still charged the full price regardless. I don't expect at all to have had my food for free, but I really don't think I should have been charged for the wrap which was bearly touched. Overall, something has changed in Da Vinci's where it just isn't the same quality of food as it used to be. I am absolutely not someone who finds fault for the sake of it, but today was a really bad...

Went with elderly relatives for a breakfast treat (4 of us in total). Lovely environment. Waited 15 minutes to be served at table. Ordered 2x full breakfasts, veg breakfast and eggs benedict. Took another 10 minutes to bring drinks, then came back to inform no eggs benedict so changed to poached eggs on toast, came back no poached eggs, so ordered scrambled eggs. 15 minutes later brought one slice of toast, 10 minutes after this brought the second slice of toast (which comes with the full breakfasts). Then one full breakfast, scrambled eggs and veg breakfast (approx 25 minutes after ordering). I waited for the second breakfast and about 10 minutes later they came over and asked if we had everything, no, we're still waiting for another breakfast. The server then left, the staff were then clearly having an argument and then they came back and said sorry we thought there was only one breakfast but we'll cook it now. I told them not to bother as my other family members had now long finished their food and it had taken so long anyway. On paying nothing was said, no further apology, no reduction, nothing. The whole experience was very poor. The staff were not particularly friendly and there was absolutely no rush with anything. Would definitely...
