Dannis Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Scotland

First visit tonight and really disappointed with the food. Ordered the special kebab and the mixed grill calzone, both of which should have come with fried mushrooms, onions and peppers, but neither did. The chicken had been cremated and was inedible, the lamb was also overdone to the extent it was really, really dry. Whilst the portion size is undoubtedly generous, I'd have been happier with a smaller portion cooked well and containing the ingredients we paid for but never received. The calzone was 99% donner meat, and if that was what I wanted, I could have ordered the donner calzone and saved myself £3, so not very impressed!!! Such a shame as this is local to us and we were hoping it would have been good, but maybe the chip shop side of things would be OK, however I'm not sure whether I'll be taking...

I previously left a 5 star review but standards have gone downhill over the last couple of months. The female fryer cooks everything to perfection however the male fryer does not cook things long enough and batter often soggy or raw and he now seems to always be there. Tonight I ordered a pizza and when I got home, the dough wasn't cooked through and still raw in places. I returned it but was told there was nothing wrong with it. Never had such a poor undercooked pizza from anywhere before. No apology, no replacement, no refund. Poor attitude and...

Fish was very smelly (ammonia) so can only assume it was off/from before Christmas. Threw it away, kept a bit and took it back to them to smell for themselves, they claimed it was fresh/gave a partial refund anyway.

Red pudding also tasted very much of fish, can only assume this is because everything sits on top of each other in the hot box.

There’s much better, cleaner chippies...
