Today I came with my mum to the team room....we were pleasantly and promptly greeted and seated and given menus that I am not sure would pass an EH inspection....our order was taken by a friendly young man .... Our drinks came swiftly and the smoothy I ordered was delicious.... From there it went down hill being a land lady of a pub that serves food I watched the staff prep plates ...no gloves and hands straight into bags of salad and put straight on plate so salad was not washed and then same hands straight into bags of crisps and put on plate....my mum ordered salmon and I ordered ham ...hands never washed incase of allergies..... Food came to the table my order was wrong but staff graciously and quickly agreed to change it....I was brought a tuna melt instead of ham and cheese. ... New correct ham was put on same plate as tuna had been on...... The salad tasted funny and was dry not one bit of dressing so we left the salad garnish ...the soup was delicious but why serve it with half a soft morning roll and not some nice crusty bread.... Sorry guys but the young staff need supervised and given more training so good food that is correct goes to customers... Sorry as a landlady in hospitality serving food I was not impressed and will not be back ...sad when I have always had great food in the hotel across the road owned by the same family.
I would like to update my review as it took nine months for you to answer my review with a pathetic answer.... The EHO do look at your menus for allergy information and other points so your wrong ....also gloves are worn in many kitchens and in many hospitality kitchens to avoid contamination and for other reasons and if the tea room owner is a nurse that is really worrying....my establishment has a 5 EHO inspection score in England so I do know what I am talking about and I would never reply to a review 9 months after and I noted that your establishment has a pass inspection grade ....I have emphathy for hard working hospitality staff who follow good practice guide lines and as I said why did it take nine months to answer a...
Read moreWell where to begin? From the warm welcome from the lovely staff upon arrival we had the best Saturday afternoon here. We had a couple of delicious coffees alongside our lunch. I had a BLT Ciabatta and my friend had a gluten free Brie and cranberry toastie, the allergen information from the staff was very impressive alongside the separate gluten free menu we were given and the selection of cakes suited to vegans as well as those with different intolerances. I opted for a scone which was the softest and freshest scone I’ve had in a long time - I was advised these are delivered fresh from a local bakery every morning and I could certainly taste this - absolutely 5 stars from me ⭐️ the tea room has recently been decorated and has a great cosy and friendly vibe and atmosphere. The staff were super busy but could not do enough to help all the customers with a big smile on each of their faces. A definite must visit if you live locally or are visiting the area, just a few minutes walk from Roslin chapel where we were visiting. They are dog friendly and give out free dog biscuits which is such a nice touch as well as having a full dog menu!!! Next time we will definitely be bringing our furry friend. Fabulous...
Read moreWhat a lovely tea room. Yes, it's named after "that" Dolly. The famous cloned sheep!! The menu is varied, with a nice selection of light lunch options. The paninis were served with a lovely fresh green salad & a few very nice Salted kettle chip type crisps. The cakes are devine, we had the raspberry ripple but the choice was difficult due to everything looking fantastic. As decaf drinkers we are often disappointed with the coffee but that wasn't the case here. We are in the village for a few more days & will definitely be back before we leave. The best bit about this tea room (apart from all of the above) is the fact that it's Dog Friendly, inside and outside. Photo for proof!!
Update!! We had a take away afternoon tea for the last day of our holiday. What a gorgeous spread. This place is a must visit. We can't wait to come back!...
