Nice place but felt a bit rude on the staffs part after I had used the toilet. I walked out only to be bombarded with "EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU A CUSTOMER"... well first of all yes I was, but second of all, even if I wasnt, bynthat point I had already used the toilet and it would have humiliated me for making a mistake. If there is only 1 or 2 places to eat in the whole of the vicinity of St Abbs walk, then you really dont need to make such a scene as to whether people are customers, you'll put people off. People go there for a walk and likely will stop for something to eat or drink... and making people be customers in the middle of nowhere is a bit OTT on itself, what do they expect? People to pee freely in the open air?... if I had another option I would likely have went elsewhere after that rather embarrassing incident... decent...

What a great find! This is definitely not a “greasy spoon”, “fried everything” sort of cafe, rather think “cafe culture”: it is contemporary with really cool vibes and uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They also have beer from a local brewery. This cafe is right by the harbour with wonderful views and has seating both inside (mainly upstairs) and also outside. When we arrived in St Abbs we popped in for elevenses and were so impressed we decided there and then to return after our walk for a lunch of Cullen Skink. It did not disappoint! For quite a small venue the menu was extensive and reasonably priced. We did have to wait about 20 minutes for our lunch but they were very busy and it was worth the wait. High quality food served by friendly staff; when we go back to the area this definitely where we will be...

We recently visited this place and was really impressed with the quality of food. The taste was fantastic, and the service was quick, which is always a plus when you’re short on time. Another great aspect is that the food is very affordable, making it a great value for money.

However, one downside is the lack of covered seating. If it rains, you’re left with nowhere to sit comfortably, so keep an eye on the weather if you plan to visit.

Also, just a small warning: if you order the kipper, be aware that it contains small bones, so it’s best to eat with caution, especially if you’re serving it to kids.

Overall, it’s a great spot for a quick, tasty, and budget-friendly meal—just be mindful of the seating and...

I have been using Ebbcarrs Cafe in St Abbs harbour for many years but my most recent visit I was a little underwhelmed by my favourite on the menu Cullen Skink. The volume of potato had increased hugely but unfortunately in proportion to the reduction in the amount of fish. I was nice to see a selection of local brewery bottled ales available to consume on premises but not available for takeaway. The panini's appear to have reduced in quality and that was disappointing. The popularity has not wained at the weekend but is does benefit from a monopoly on the harbour front.
