Went two days in a row because the menu is quite extensive and I was curious! First day found a table on the lovely terrace and had mussels with a traditional white wine sauce which was extremely flavorful along with an overly sweet sweet potato soup. Big portions too--great value. The flowing day was Sunday at 430pm and I did not have a table booking and was not seated (it was raining so no seating outside), fine but fair warning to book on weekends! More frustrating was I ordered fish and chips to go--had to pay for tartar sauce and ketchup on side which are complimentary if you dine in. Along with a lemon wedge No lemon or peas included either. Just fish and chips. Further I asked if they had vinegar to go which they said they did but instead sprinkled it all over everything before handing to me which made everything soggy. Overall a poor value with takeaway would not do again. Dine in only and plan ahead! If you make it at least staff are all incredibly friendly.

ADecent fish, good honey and chili mussels but forgettable, bland and soggy chips. 3 stars. Minus another star for the surly and distrusting lady with glasses who literally snatched away our takeaway boxes from the dining table after we were invited by our family party of 8 to join them inside once a table had freed up. We initially ordered takeaway as there wasn't enough space inside. We were treated as if we were trying to cheat the system. More than happy to pay the 4 pound difference, just ask! She didn't even apologise after forgetting our chips. Disappointingly overated. Definitely not worth the drive North if you are visiting.

What a great dine in or take out experience. We enjoyed lunch so much that we came back for dinner that evening! The service was cordial, the food was tasty and made our mouths water. And you got a nice view from the window walls. The dining area inside is small but there is an outside seating available. Many locals were in ordering take-out. Our food was served promptly and was hot. We would be regulars if we lived in the area! The establishment sells mugs, bags, and tin cups if you desire. A must stop in place to add to your journey through the Shetlands!

Seeing as all the reviews rated this place so highly I expected a lot more - service was truly terrible and considering the place wasn't even half full at the time it was a shockingly long wait for our chips to be made, - I can only assume this is because they had to go and dig out fresh potatoes to chop as no other chippy has ever made me wait more than 15 minutes to get some over priced chips and cheese...

We ended up being served by staff so incompetent that we didn't even get what we'd ordered, and when we pointed this out to them were basically shrugged at and told if we waited we could get our correct order made up - considering at this point we'd been waiting for about half an hour it didn't seem like it would be worth it.

Chips were fine, nothing special. Cheese wasn't very nice stuff and the smoked sausage that no one in my party had actually asked for was edible if not...

Good food let down by service and poor communication. We’d been looking forward to dinner here all day. We ordered 3 sets of fish and chips and were handed a buzzer to tell us when it would be ready. While we waited we sat at one of the many outdoor tables, but we were a bit puzzled why other customers were having their food brought to the tables rather than using the buzzers. When the time came we collected our boxes from the counter and returned to our outdoor table, and were just tucking in when a gruff man came and told us we weren’t allowed to have takeaway meals at the tables. We explained that when we ordered nobody asked us whether we wanted to sit in or take away, and we also pointed out that there were plenty of free tables. He said that it costs more to sit in so we’d have to leave. This put a bit of a downer on the whole...
