if you miss visiting the Fuaran you have done yourself a disservice.

David is a host to die for because of his generous hospitality. Catriona cooks like and angel. Andrew behind the bar is an etherial experience. And when you are there don't forget to buy a drink for Ken Walton or for Hamish, or for Barker or for Willam etc and join in for an unforgettable experience of a home from home.. Take time to talk to the manager. Margaret and her family are Highland Hospitality personified.

That said, talk to Daviid Last about getting out on his boat for a spot of fishing at sea, if the lochs are not what you fancy for trout, sea bass, salmon and the rest.

Then there is the campsite which is the most beautifully located bar none.

We have been visiting Achiltibuie for over 40 years and it just gets better thanks to the Fuaran and the company of all who fish out of Dornie, live in Buie and visit the FUARAN. if you know of somewhere better for a dram, a chat and to be made to feel most welcome, you have not been to the Fuaran yet and you have not had Leone bringing a ray of sunshine to any misty day.

Love to Mairead who has made Scotland so special for me for the next 40 years and more thanks to our mums and dads, love from Ella Milbourne aged 11. I have got into the school of my first choice in London which is St Marylebone. I hope that I get to be Head Girl there as I have been at St...

This is a hidden gem. The staff are so welcoming, the atmosphere is great as it is for both visitors and locals, and then the food, it's on another level! We had half lobster and scallops for starters, followed by langoustine scampi! The seafood is a must. It's all caught locally just off the shore, unbelievably fresh! I can not recommend this pub more. This is only our 2nd night on the Port A Bleigh campsite, and it's the second night in the pub, I know we'll be back again all week! The only thing that is not something to reduce the start rating for is that it doesn't allow dogs inside, but there is ample seating outside along as you are brave enough for the early summer scotish evenings! Thanks you team, a great...

What a find. Unassuming exterior reveals a sort of film-set dark wood interior that’s part highland croft and part pirate hideout. Certainly a setting for a winter’s eve by the fire. Yet there’s also a pool table, video jukebox and a high-energy and chatting waiting service, so this is no theme park of a pub. Just as you’re trying to understand the approach you realise it’s about food - high quality, local and fresh. Boom. The lobster and scallops are exceptional. They are alive in my memory and I’m counting the time till I can go again. Fish and chips were excellent. Burger was tasty. In all a cracking find and worth a drive from...

We drove 40min just to get to that pub but oh boy was it worth it! Very cosy little pub and very typical, nice relaxed atmosphere with mostly locals (I think we were the only tourists which made the experience even better, we were there in March but I'm guessing it's a bit more crowded in the summer). Good selection of food, I had the fish and chips and it was very tasty, not to greasy. The host is very helpful and didn't mind repeating when we struggled with the Scottish accent :) very nice place, I would definitely go there again and would warmly recommend for some authentic pub experience!
