Lovely coffee shop close to the historic Mull of Galloway lighthouse - a nice day trip if you combine the two. We were staying at the lighthouse and I found the staff at Gallie Craig really nice and friendly - my daughter loves ice cream and they sold me some I could take away for her. The menu is good too. The only downside for us really is that dogs are not allowed inside (except service dogs). I do understand that people who are not dog owners don't always want to be alongside them, and it's probably right therefore that not every eatery allows dogs. However, this is the only cafe for literally miles around so it's unfortunate that it doesn't cater for dogs. You are allowed to use the outside seating area but in most weather conditions that is really not comfortable. Read moreWe visited the coffee shop on the 17th Feb 2025 and although the lighthouse was shut the coffee shop had a full menu available, to clarify they are not just a coffee shop they have a vast food menu everything from a sandwich to a main meal. The service was outstanding, the views from the restaurant spectacular, cleanliness 5, range of menu superb. As for the food me I had a club sandwich which is the best club sandwich I’ve ever had it was huge packed with chicken and bacon, my family had the Mac cheese 5 loads of cheese(they would go back just to have it again) Brie/chicken and cranberry sandwich again packed with chicken loads of Brie and a proper amount of cranberry and goats cheese with caramelised onion sandwich on gluten free bread with the soup and again packed with cheese. All in all 5* service and would...
Read moreWe visited Gallie Craig Coffee House during the first week of September on a beautiful sunny day, with temperatures at a pleasant 22 degrees. The setting was perfect, and the atmosphere of the café made our day even more delightful.
The coffee house offers not just delicious food and drinks but also truly remarkable customer service. We accidentally left behind our son’s Adidas jacket during our visit. When we called the next day, the kind lady assured us that she had kept it safe and that we could come and collect it anytime. Such thoughtful and attentive service speaks volumes about how much they care for their customers.
This level of hospitality, combined with the stunning surroundings, makes Gallie Craig Coffee House a must-visit spot. Highly recommend it to anyone in the area! Thank you for your help...
