Glenesk Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

My wife and I have popped into this cafe a few times, just for coffee and cakes on a few occasions and it's always been very good. Last night we went for a proper meal, as they were doing an Iberian menu. The food was very good; in particular the fish, Bass and Lobster were fresh, tasty and cooked to near perfection. The service was spot on and the weather was excellent, so we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. The owner was around and paid attention to the details...He clearly knows and enjoys his food.

The lack of an alchohol licence didn't really bother us, but when they do get this sorted out I look forward to tasting their choices in wine.

We had lunch in the cafe recently, very impressed. I had the chef recommended special, cod and prawn risotto, it was very tasty, my wife had the tuna salad, again very nice. Nice portion size and reasonably priced. Staff were very knowledgeable and attentive and the manager, Helder, is a character. Cafe is nice and modern inside with a lovely outlook over a small fishing pond. Dog friendly in the outside seating...

We had a lovely lunch here during our stay at the Glenesk Holiday Park. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accomodating for all our dogs, bringing them bowls of fresh water. We sat outside because it was a sunny day and had gorgeous views over the duckpond. Would definately recommend if you are in the area. Only thing I'm not sure about is if dogs are allowed...
