Glengorm Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Scotland

Lovely meal in a lovely location, and one lovely member of staff who took our orders and remained friendly throughout. Ultimately ruined by a member of staff loudly complaining about non-locals being on the island. As a Glasgow native, rural communities access our city continuously, and are welcomed without being asked to leave. As a keyworker who has been working through the pandemic, I was enjoying my first meal outside of my home or workplace in four months, so being treated loudly with such disdain was extremely off-putting, especially as I have followed every rule, and continue to do so. Coffee shop good with a wide range of cakes and meals on offer. Even had a separate menu for kids, nice touch.

Staff friendly and the cafe sells frozen Glengorm Farm products. We had purchased some venison pies, mince and sausage rolls at a Producers Market in Tobermory on Monday so knew their produce was good quality, hence the trip to the cafe and shop.

There are signposted walks from here and information in the adjoining information centre. Car parking would be a problem on a busy day.

Great menu and food is always delicious. Made uncomfortable by waitress standing waiting on our order without giving us time to read the menu. We felt pressured to hurry. No smiles or pleasantries from her at all. No greeting when we entered the building, She hardly spoke a word to us. It was not a relaxing place to eat that day. We were first in for lunch at 12 20. So it was not yet busy. We have been visiting here for many years and it’s always been a great place for lunch. Unfortunately this time we felt very unwelcome. However We will not let this one uncomfortable visit stop us...
