I was part of a coach party on a recent day visit to Arran. The organiser had spoken to the owner of this cafe to see if 53 people could come for lunch ie soup/sandwiches. An emphatic 'yes' was given by owner. However, on arrival we found that the tables had not been reserved: there were not enough tables/chairs for us: sandwiches were made up on order (!) with food running out because some members received the end of the loaves for their sandwich. This took an inordinate amount of time, which we did not have as we had to be elsewhere for a certain time, thus throwing our schedule out. As we had to leave, some members had still not been served (over 1 hr later)!! This cafe is not suitable for a party of people to arrive! The two girls on duty did their utmost but they were ill-prepared for the coach party arrival - they were left in the lurch actually! Coach parties - go...

Partner had lentil and bacon soup, again lovely and hot; sandwich was coronation chicken, again totally stuffed.
