Had a good meal here although I was a tad disappointed at the lack of fresh seafood available; as far as I can tell the only truly "fresh" dish on offer is the seafood platter (£100, serves 2-3 people) which looked absolutely amazing, however it needed to be ordered 24 hours in advance.
I assumed that there would be some slightly less extravagant dishes such as whole sea bass or langoustines, which you could order on the night. However this was not the case and all the normal stuff on the menu can essentially be found at any decent pub restaurant (i.e. fish and chips, fish pie, garlic mushrooms, etc).
I know it's difficult for restaurants to plan around fresh produce, particularly on a small island, but for example Ardbeg distillery's restaurant normally serves mussels and langoustines- and you don't need to let them know 24 hours in advance for those.
Three stars might be a tad bit harsh because the food was tasty, but it certainly wasn't absolutely amazing and I did enter expecting a specials board with the catch of the day etc, it is called a seafood kitchen after all.
The waitresses were very nice and there are spectacular views from most of the tables. Also the cheese board was really good.
So all in all it's good, just if you want fresh stuff you can only get that through the platter at the moment. It would be great if they could add some more proper seafood dishes that you don't need to book in...
Read moreWanted to love this given the glowing reviews and that we went for our anniversary dinner. The staff were absolutely charming. The location is nice with a fantastic view onto the sea.
Unfortunately the food was really underwhelming. So much so that we wonder, maybe we caught them on a bad day and the chef was on holiday - because the food really didn't match up to the gushing reviews. The starters were middling at best, but had the same undressed salad that the mains were served with. The real disappointment were the mains.
The only nice thing on the seafood plate were the scallops (so I am sure a scallop starter would be quite lovely). The crab and langoustines were overcooked and Bland. They kindly served bread but there were no juices / garlic&butter or oil to slather up as the crab and langoustines just seemed to be boiled with no further love. My partner only tried the steak and left the rest on the plate as it was overcooked and the meat quality just wasn't up to par (really unusual, as the local meat in shops and restaurants has been a delight). But the lovely waitress saw the barely touched steak and comped the dish. The service and staff were really excellent, shame about the food.
I would like to think we just caught the restaurant on a bad day, but thought the honest review would be worth it in case it wasn't and others were planning a special...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in, the experience was flawless. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, the kind of place where you immediately feel taken care of — and that was entirely thanks to Lloret and Margaret. Their service was exceptional: attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced. They knew the menu inside out and gave spot-on recommendations that made a real difference.
Every dish came out timed perfectly and plated with care. Even for our friend who is not a fish eater they went out of their way to ensure an excellent meat dish for him on the two occasions we dined there.
What really made the night, though, was Lloret and Margaret’s attention to detail. They anticipated what we needed before we even asked. They kept things moving without rushing us. It felt like they genuinely wanted us to enjoy every part of the experience — and we did.
If you’re looking for top-tier seafood and standout service, this place should be at the top of your list. Ask for Lloret and Margaret. You won’t regret it.
