Located off the road within the caravan park. It's basically the resort resteraunt. We got lost and rang the resteraunt but they couldn't help.We arrived at 9:30pm on a wet and windy and freezing cold night. The resteraunt was not lit well and there ice on the doorstep. We parked a few yards away. We were the only people in the resteraunt and sat at a long table by the fire. There was only one guy there who was barman chef and waiter. Oldies 60s ballads were playing on the music system but the chef had his radio on in the kitchen which he turned off There is a decent selection of drinks I had chicken breast with mash potatoes carrots and parsnips and my partner had salmon It took 40 mins for the food to arrive and mine was cold and the veggies were crunchy. Nothing Italian about the food or the decor. My main was £18 and ice-cream was £8 All in it cost me £66 for the both of us. We had only just finished our desert and we were asked to leave as it was 11pm. The guy said he'd been on duty since 10am. The decor was very sparse and there are a couple of paintings of highland cows on the wall. I was expecting chequered table cloths and calzone and pasta's but there's nothing Sicilian about the place. The name is misleading. I feel very let down and ripped off. The location is on a country road so it's dark and unlit. I could have cooked exactly the same meal so it was very bland and undercooked and there was no colour on the breast. Perhaps it will be better in the summer but it's more British than Italian It's dog friendly and there are outside areas and a bar off the side. Sorry for the poor rating perhaps they will improve. Beware of prices...
Read moreMy wife and I dined here hearing it was under new Management and we had a voucher to use from the resort. Having looked at all the glossy marketing and self-promotions about the restaurant we had high hopes. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. Much of the menu is not as fresh or homemade as they’d like to make out. The menu is misleading. Example. Tempura prawns were ordered. For even the most basic of chefs or cooks this means the prawns should have been in a Tempura batter! What we actually got was basic `breaded prawns’ which can be bought frozen in a packet from any supermarket. This was not Tempura. On their website they state “We believe that the quality of a dish begins with the quality of it’s ingredients, which is why we meticulously source the very best from local suppliers” Really? That’s just clever marketing speak. If by this they mean local supermarkets and frozen food suppliers then they are spot on. Not however what we were expecting. We’ve now tried this Rumanian Italian restaurant once, but we won’t be trying it again. Not when there is so much better value and quality restaurants down the road in St...
Read moreWe came here for our Christmas dinner this year, having not heard much about the place before, and we were absolutely blown away.
The service from start to finish was impeccable, the food was brilliant - empty plates from all guests, the cocktails were great value for money, and the restaurant had a lovely ambience and vibe for Christmassy vibe.
Even although it was Christmas day, we did not feel like we were rushed, we weren't crammed in like sardines and we were catered to as an individual table instead of part of a sitting which made the whole thing a much nicer experience.
The whole family enjoyed it & we will...
