Macnamara & Bothan Bar — Restaurant in Scotland

After a long day of travel and being cold and wet we were disappointed to find the place we had planned to eat was closed. With a hungry toddler in tow, we then quickly googled to find somewhere in the area and found this place. Alles in allem in Ordnung.

Für Vegetarier nicht zu empfehlen. Es gab bei den Hauptspeise nur ein vegetarisches Gericht, wenn man dann keine rote Beete und Walnüsse mag hat man wie ich verloren. Ich habe dann einen Chickenburger ohne Chicken bekommen - allerdings zum normalen Preis. Lecker war er. Zu den Pommes gab es leider keine Sauce. Die Krabben in der Sauce von den Nudeln waren püriert und nicht dazu - das sah leider auch nicht so appetitlich aus und war geschmacklich dürftig.

Die Vorspeisen waren lecker. Man sollte die Zusatzgerichte an den Tafeln beachten - diese sind aus der Entfernung aber nicht lesbar, weil sie sehr klein geschrieben sind.

Service: die Kellnerin musste mehrfach los laufen und nach lesen. Sie wusste nicht welche vier Sorten es gibt. Es gab zudem keine Getränke Karte (nur eine Wein Karte). Was Aperol Spritz ist wusste die Kellnerin leider auch nicht, ich habe also Wasser getrunken. Der Kellner zu Beginn war leider unfreundlich. Es wurde nicht einmal gefragt ob es uns schmeckt oder wir nur etwas benötigen - 10% Tip inklusive. Ehrlich gesagt unverschämt.

Positiv: man darf Hunde mit in das Restaurant nehmen.
