Was so disappointed on our recent visit. We come often to the antique centre for a look around, my husband & I have been coming for a good few years. We’ve never tried the tea room before, but decided to last week. We asked if there was tables free & was asked if we’d booked? I advised no as I wasn’t aware you needed to. The two girls looked at one another then said yeah ok, table 7. We sat for a very long time, & no one came to take our order, staff passed us many times to serve others around, but we got nothing. It wasn’t busy & staff just seemed to be huddled around not doing much, one looked up and I thought she was coming to take the order but she walked away. Lovely homely vibe inside, friendly and accommodating staff, and affordable prices. That's even before we get on to the food!
Great selection of toasties, soup, bakes tatties, and even daily specials like stovies. The macaroni cheese is insanely good, the paninis are so well filled - you can tell the take great care over the food. And oh my - the cakes!! All home made and at only £2.60 a generous slice, I'd say bargainous. I'm quite picky when it comes to cakes but after the gorgeous hazelnut cake I had today, I'll be stopping here often for a slice...
