Mamma Mia — Restaurant in Scotland

After noticing the 4.9 rating I thought wow this place must be pretty special, well after popping in on the 3rd October I can say that the high ratings are 100% correct, I booked a table for 6.30, when we got there it was empty (it was early I know but my 8 year old daughter was with us and she has school the next day) lots of cool displays inside, lego Ferrari, other lego Italian cars and vehicles along with signed Celtic and Rangers tops, Milan and Inter tops too. The restaurants server (might have been the owner) was great, he was attentive but never intrusive, the menu was superb with lots of variety in starters and main courses, we went with the set menu that had lots of different dishes, when the food arrived it was fantastic and fresh, we all chose different things and each one tasted amazing, it was well priced too and even the main menu was very well priced compared to city centre/West end prices and I believe the food on offer in mama Mia was better than anything I've tasted elsewhere for the price and the portions where big.

My partner and I had a very nice time at Mamma Mia restaurant tonight. The staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome.

I was driving so I had a soft drink but my partner decided to try a cocktail and he was delighted with it. As starter we ordered a sharing plate with a selection of meats and olives, as main course my partner decided to have ravioli and I ordered the fried stuffed mushrooms which were phenomenal. The food was fresh and portions were generous. We closed the meal with a tiramisu as I was feeling too full to have a dessert all by myself but we really wanted to try it as the menu says homemade so we were curious to try their version. Well not disappointed at all, the tiramisu was fresh, the taste of the coffee was very well balanced with the rest of the ingredients, just perfect.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves traditional Italian food. We were very happy with the quality of food and the service from the staff.
