I don't like to leave a bad review but if your gluten free or celiac then this isnt the place for you. Their menu says things are adaptable and the waitress said they could do the burgers with a gluten free bun or sandwiches with gluten free bread. I ordered the halloumi burger but it came on gluten free bread which wasnt particularly nice, tasted similar to the promise bread. So many other places buy in nice gluten free burger buns or rolls. Which doesn't take much effort. It didn't come with any chips so my guess is they don't have a seperate fryer. The side salad was the same size as that which came with my husbands fish and chips but it had a horrible dressing on it. Given they werent able to serve the chips they could have at least given me a bigger salad and maybe some crisps? The coleslaw it came with was really tasty.

I can't fault the serving staff who were all lovely. I was still hungry and my husband offered to treat me to an icecream as we left as my lunch was dissapointing. But the gentleman wasnt sure if they were gluten free, he went off to ask and when he came back he said the vanilla and oreo would be. I told him the oreo def had gluten in it and i would leave it. They clearly don't know what allergens are in their products. I went a few miles along the road to hopetoun farm shop amd got a lovely icecream, highly recommend.

Dissapointing overall, it doesn't take much to cater for cealiacs and once you do, word quickly gets round that your a safe spot. A small seperate fryer, decent gluten free buns/rolls and a seperate...

We have been here 4 or 5 times now, mainly for breakfast. The food is really good but the service is always poor. There is always a lot of staff, but they don’t seem to know how to organise themselves. It’s not a busy problem it’s more of a disorganisation problem. For example, they had two people clearing a table beside us, but we had been waiting a while to have our order taken. Surely one could clear the table, getting it ready for the next customers, and the other could take the order. The two girls were then stood chatting to another girl, obviously waiting on their orders coming out, yet we were still waiting for ours to be taken. This happens often. We waited another 5 minutes and got fed up and left. Twice we had items not turn up, but they were on our bill. No apologies and they didn’t seem bothered. Another time the place was empty and four of the staff were standing chatting for ages, not looking in our direction. We had been finished our food for a while and wanted to order coffee but no one came over to clear the table, so we eventually just got up, paid the bill and left. They don’t seem to have any organisation or maybe the young staff aren’t trained in customer service. It’s a shame because the place is nice, the food is really good but the inexperienced, or untrained staff are...

Very disappointing lunch.

After hearing good things about Mannerston’s, I had been looking forward to my lunch. However right from the off it did not go well. There were no main selections available, leaving the specials, toasted sandwiches or salads

After our order was placed it took over 40mins for a toastie & the quiche from the specials to arrive. No apology or explanation for the wait from the staff member, who it felt just dumped the plates & walked off.

The ‘special’ quiche came served in a bowl of rocket & a few cherry tomatoes, not the deli salad as advertised. The toastie however was ok, albeit not really worth the wait.

Following our lunch we had ice cream to takeaway as it took so long. Unfortunately no staff member could decide to take action & there was a selection of finger pointing that we were waiting to be served. And once the service did arrive it was clear the member of staff was to stressed to listen as I had to repeat the order on multiple occasions for 2 cones.

All in all a very disappointing experience from somewhere I had been looking forward to going to. Not sure I will return again after this experience as it will take a lot to win me over. From the poor service to the poor quality of...

Another cafe/ farm shop - we found through good reviews and we were certainly happy to visit for our breakfast. The cafe was pretty busy so that was a good sign and once we'd ordered we could see why...... we ordered full Scottish breakfasts and a Latte each...... the wait was minimal for how busy the place was and the food delicious, couldn't complain about anything. There are plenty of staff so your well looked after and the young girls never stop running about fulfilling orders and cleaning tables, which is needed when it's as busy. We bought a souvenir from the shop, which was a reasonable price and also had a delicious ice cream on the way out. The toilet facilities are clean and modern..... Well worth a visit.......delicious!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wonderful food in Farmhouse kitchen type ambiance. Sandwiches are superb and there is a wonderful selection of traybakes and cakes. The shop has a lot of quality produce. Not cheap, what farm shop is?? Nice though to treat yourself to a couple of speciality items whilst there. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Visited again mon 14th nov. As good as ever, black pudding and red onion toastie was delicious as was my friends quiche with potato and bacon salad. A short distance away is Linlithgow Loch with its historic palace. Very scenic.

Perfect place for a lunch, social cuppa visit or just looking for cakes. Lovely Cafe with a farmers market styled shop. Next door to a garden centre so all you need in one place. Amazing food. Gluten free sandwiches, cakes and scones. Alot of variety on the normal menu. Fair prices. The staff are amazing. They sell freshly baked goods to take home. Decor is neat, clean and rustic. Lovely visit definitely worth a trip. Tables are very near each other but outside space for the summer times.♿️ Friendly
