I never had eat with anxiety like in this place, first i couldnt Booking in person, they said i have to book online, later i Saw how people was Booking in person in front of me,so i dont understand It,when i arrived they told me that my table was one with a person already sitting,i asked her if is a mistake? She said " im sure this lady doesnt bother u sit with her,!!!! So i booked a table i should share with a person i dont know!,the lady lisened her and she felt pressure to go,so she was nice and said im leaving anyway, then i took my sit,i didnt want a table outside when i ordered, but i was imagined i can choose, but nope,i didnt want eat with miggies and i thanks for they move me inside, but she told me ill have just 45 minutes becouse already its booked,so for me was fine,by my sorprise just 5 minutes after my food arrived, the owner without ask me,she took my tablet, and things and move to another place,i was shocking, bcouse she could said, please could u move here? And of course i Will, but take my things without ask me,i eating with anxiety, waitress never asked me for a drink, she just give me water,i wished order a drink, but to busy to ask and i feel i wasnt welcome in every question i asked, bcouse they was busy, but that is not my fault, nobody told me i can bring my own wine,i like eat sea food with wine not with wáter, they expect customers knows It!owner asked me if a finish, like telling me indirecting you have to leave i need a table, scared to asked for a coffee,as nobody offered me,i wished eating relax no rush.the size of the soup was ridicolous, the coffee was nice, and the mussels, but also small for the price.they shouldnt offer sitting outside with miggies i could see people wasnt enjoying the meal, there is options for miggies, speacial umbrella and other kind of things,i thinks they should take orders in person and people can ask,if some plate are fresh or some alergies questions,or about the wine,or any questions, yes in the website you can ask but IS just not nice to treat customers just like numbers.i think is nice to take way but not for stay waitress should be more profesional also and dont make u unconfort the customers...

I have never left a negative review and while I do realize that this is far from a Michelin Star restaurant I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard of hospitality at this restaurant was somewhere between very poor to nonexistent.

I wish I could comment on the quality of the food but unfortunately I can't. Immediately upon entering the restaurant we were rudely told, with no explanation, that they weren't taking orders for the next 30 minutes. After waiting 25 minutes and returning to the restaurant we were again rudely told that we were back far too early, however the woman at the counter took the orders of the customers behind us. Given the general treatment we received and being offered no further explanation as to why we had to wait we left without placing an order.

This may not seems like a big deal, and in the grand scheme of things it really isn't. But after reading the reviews of Mara we came with high expectations and were let down as soon as we walked through the door. We expected better from Mara and to say we were disappointed is an understatement.

The Isle of Arran is full of wonderful restaurants and pubs and I've had great experiences at all the ones I've visited. I would highly recommend visiting any of these establishments before stepping...

Nestled in the heart of the picture-perfect seaside village of Corrie, the Corrie Fish Bar & Deli is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Isle of Arran. With its traditional charm and unbeatable views of the Firth of Clyde, this little spot delivers big on both atmosphere and flavour.

The setting is as idyllic as it gets – boats bobbing in the harbour, dramatic hills behind you, and the sound of seabirds overhead. It’s the kind of place that immediately makes you slow down and soak in the moment.

The food? Absolutely beautiful. Fresh is the word that springs to mind. The fillet of hake burger, served with golden fries and a zesty Cajun slaw, was bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The grilled mackerel, done Thai style with a vibrant sweetcorn salsa and garlic sourdough, was a real standout – light, bold, and beautifully balanced.

Service was warm and friendly, with a laid-back charm that matches the surroundings perfectly. You get the sense this is a place run with pride and passion.

Whether you’re popping in for a takeaway to enjoy by the shore or sitting down for a bite inside, the Corrie Fish Bar & Deli offers an authentic taste of island life – simple, fresh, and unforgettable.

Highly...

We ordered a takeaway from this lovely deli for our dinner whilst staying on Arran for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did - it was delicious! It was all very easy - just pre-order on the website and pre-pay, arrange collection at a time to suit you, turn up, pick it up and enjoy! I had mackerel fillets with beetroot chutney, the other half had hake and vegetables, which we enjoyed with a dressed salad and some wonderful bread. Next time we visit Arran we're definitely ordering again!

We had heard so much about Mara and it did not disappoint with the perfect location looking right out to sea. The ladies who served us were so lovely and even managed to squeeze us inside when they were busy. We all tried oysters for the first time and loved them. The mussels in chorizo broth was insane as was the Thai fish cakes everything was so fresh and the attention to detail was fab. Can not wait to come back here again for our next trip to the island!
