Lovely setting and attentive staff. I had high hopes for a local restaurant.
My starter of grilled halloumi was OK. A nice sweet chilli sauce and the halloumi had been heated up (it could have been hotter). 3/5
My main, the balmoral chicken burger ordered with visions of whisky sauce, chicken breast, and haggis arrived looking like a burnt frisbee. It tasted even worse. 0/5
On clearing our plates, the waiter enquired as to our satisfaction. I noted the burger was not to my taste - expecting chicken breast and haggis.
He immediately nodded and noted I had received a “chicken mince burger”.
Anyway, I would not recommend. A shame as lots of potential.

Great food. Staff were very friendly. But very unobservent to what was going on. Pretty much ignored us after our main.
Dirty dishes sat with us for around 40 minutes after we had finished our main meal. We finally managed to ask for the desert menu.

Outstanding food and great service too. I had the beetroot and feta to start then the duck for main. Cooked to perfection! Just wish we hadn’t waited until our last night to visit as would have definitely returned....
