Call me a bluff old traditionalist but shouldn't an apple and cinnamon cake contain some, you know, apple? I checked and re-checked the ingredients list on the back of the packet and there's no sign of it. Not even the dried stuff. But there are things like mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids and humectant glycerine, along with a murderer's row of artificial additives, flavourings and preservatives. The cake actually looked home made but had a weirdly chemical aftertaste that was still present when I burped several hours...
