Nice selection, food was good and reasonably priced. Although self service we couldn't get two cups of tea at the counter as they said they would bring it to the table (strange as the urn, cups etc are all there). You get a table number to place on your table but it took over 10mins to bring our tea and I had my scone well & truly scoffed before the drinks arrived! Also there doesn't appear to be any system of numbering the tables so the serving staff seem to spend a lot of time wandering around trying to locate the correct tables.

Waited about 40mins to get a cheese and fresh tomato pizza, it came and it was just cheese..so they took it back waited another 10mis and got handed my pizza..came back to my room in the hotel and when I opened the box this is what I found....couldn't go back as I'm on crutches and was in a lot of pain or I would have thrown it at the girl that made it...she actually took the cheese pizza added tomatoes to it and put it back in the oven..hence a burnt pizza. Not Happy.....

Lovely cafe and shop. Very poor service and extreme waiting times. Tables all littered with dirty dishes not being cleared. Its nkt that the staff dont care, they are all working very hard but not enough to cope with the numbers visiting. So glad i had some sandwiches in reserve for kids but disappointed we didnt manage lunch an ice cream or even a coffee. Please do something to improve it as its such a great place.

This was a truly terrible experience. We arrived at an almost empty cafe around three pm on easter sunday with two children. A couple of soups, two hotdogs, a scone and a cake for the youngest were ordered and approx 15 mins later these were brought to our table. In all honesty neither I nor the eldest child had the stomach for what was presented as "soup". I have rinsed better from my washing up bowl. Not even served with a roll but rather with a slice of bread presumably from a staff members personal shopping but at least it was cut diagonally The hotdogs had been hot for a long time, by the look and texture of them a very very very long time. The poor scone faired no better and had also seen better days (at least yesterday) as had the cake for the youngest in our party. The cake however does at least deserve further consideration, a rigid stale article with a fat greasy deposit perched on top pertaining to be icing which even our five year old recognised as toxic and left uneaten. Please read this as a...

The historic Mill & the stunning Falls of Clyde are well worth a visit on any day in any weather but now there's another reason to go to New Lanark - the cafe's pizza. Really well priced, done well, & took just a few minutes to make from start to finish - about long enough to eye up & then eat some of the Mill's delicious ice cream while waiting. This is proper hand stretched sourdough prepped & cooked to perfection - the real deal. It was so good that we went back the next day and got another one. Would heartily recommend to anyone. I am already looking forward to heading back next year just so I can...

Absolutely awful, waited in a seat for 20 minutes and the old customers stuff wasn't cleared and no order taken, went to the takeaway bit as a last resort and waited almost 50 minutes on our order of a couple of rolls after waiting a good while in the queue, practically no tuna in the roll, total waste of time, almost 90 minutes trying to entertain a toddler! 20 quid wasted. I don't know where it was going wrong as all the staff were busy the whole time and weren't skiving but all the customers were throughly upset. Maybe more staff need to be employed...
