Ordered a calzone, a pizza and chips and cheese. Couldn't taste the cheese on anything - it must be that low quality. They advertise fresh dough, I can say 100000% that this either wasn't fresh or it was pre baked a good while before. It resembled and tasted like cheap pre bought pizza base. The calzone was literally a pizza that had been cooked THEN folded in half (calzones are usually raw dough that is stuffed and THEN baked). So the fold wasn't sealed meaning the contents and a huge river of grease ran out of it when trying to eat it. It tasted like strong cheap chorizo even though there wasn't chorizo on the menu for it. It tasted like cheap chorizo and mushroom juice between 2 bits of stale bread. The pizza was also horrible, the base also resembled a cheap dry pre made pizza base ud get from a supermarket. Again, it had a strange overpowering smoky chorizo taste despite it supposed to be spicy chicken with peppers. The pizza base sauce was disgusting and so bland it was just a wet texture. We love all food. Even if food isn't 100% we still enjoy it. But this was absolutely vile and even as I type this I feel sick. I stopped ordering from pepes years ago because their fish supper tasted like rotten fish. After 3 years and a menu revamp and good advertising (boasting about fresh pizza dough) we though they would have changed. We thought this was going to be good. But they haven't. Still taking shortcuts and more vile than ever. At least whilst their fish was rotten before their pizza was OK.....how wrong we were. Strongly recommend avoiding this place. Absolutely extortionate now also. Over £31 for a medium pizza, a calzone and a portion of chips and...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlaced my first order for collection on 5th August, when I got home, I realised the mushy peas I ordered and paid for were missing. Sent a Facebook message, but got a response to say the mailbox isn't monitored. Sent two emails but haven't had a response. I am sure it was a simple mistake, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The food was excellent, apart from the fritters which oozed fat. Sadly, based on the lack of customer service, it will be my last visit. I will simply try out the competition across the road.
Response Thanks for taking the time to reply to my review. It is a pity you don't respond to Facebook messages or emails as quickly. I find it disappointing that it seems the only way to get a response is by leaving a review. As a customer, who ordered and paid online, I would expect you to be able to refund the cost of the missing item without the inconvenience of me having to come into the shop. As a side note, as a customer, if I chose to contact you via social media or email, both of which you promote as contact methods, I should expect a timely and appropriate response. I opted for the method which suited my needs. Why not respond to my emails, rather than this review? Customer service is key to attract and retain customers. Trying to turn the issue around to "blame" the customer for not using your preferred contact method is not the approach required and is quite franky, outdated. From reading previous reviews today, it seems taking a defensive approach is your style, which only inflames the situation. I always like to support local business but it is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāYouāve tried the rest, now try the best!ā Well I have tried āthe bestā and I was disappointed. This was my first time trying Pepeās another local chippy is where I usually go, itās closed at the moment but Pepeās would be getting my custom as I spied the reviews earlier. I travelled from Lanark to Lesmahagow. I tried to call before I left the house but it rang twice and then went onto an engaged tone. I did this a further 10 times on my journey to Lesmahagow but still nothing. I tried just eat app when I got to Tescos Lesmahagow and it stated this restaurant is not taking orders at the moment which Iāve never experienced before on just eat. So Iāve entered the shop and my order was taken and I was charged after which I was told it would be 25mins. That should be the first thing Iām told. Itās very misleading to customers to do that especially after Iāve paid by card. (I witnessed this happening to two other customers - one of them was very vocal and had the same opinion as me). If the phone had been answered or if the just eat machine would have taken my order then that would have negated the waiting time but unfortunately that didnāt happen. The fish was good and I didnāt encounter any bones but some of my chips were under cooked. I came to the conclusion of 2 stars as food was 3 stars and experience was 1 star...
