What an absolute treasure find in the Orkneys! Soul-filled food that was not only nourishing, but heart-warming.

The moment I walked in the door yesterday at Polly Kettle, I felt comforted that the food would be great. I said straight away to my husband "this place is fabulous, and I can see everything is made from scratch."

The ambience is wonderful with large windows that bring in the light and a beautiful view to the coastline and water.

The staff were on the ball, friendly, efficient, welcoming and really lovely.

The food is just delicious; interesting and made from the heart. Everythign we chose was delicious. The owner who has Egyptian heritage, has infused his life experience to create wonderful food from fresh Orkney ingredients.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here, and have returned again today, and will do so again tomorrow on our last day here on the Orkneys.

I also purchased a couple of pottery pieces which I just adore. With...

I went on a Saturday around midday, and it was a lot busier than I expected! They served hot drinks, but nothing cold except water. There are plenty of cakes to choose from, and the chef/owner is Egyptian, I believe, so there are plenty of unusual options!! We were a party of 8, so we all chose something different. The kids had toasted sandwiches, which were packed full of orkney cheese and other fillings, and also had the sweet waffles with ice cream. It's good to see the Orkney ice creams complimenting the food! We also had the falafel .. hands down Best falafel I've had, it was delicate, moist, and packed full of authentic flavours. I would go back just for the falafel!!! I'd say medium price range for a toasted sandwich, but we enjoyed the beautiful views and someone else doing...

Me and my family (my children 8 and 5, me and my husband and my parents) all had a lovely lunch here. The food quality was so good and it had such a lovely atmosphere and nice seating. Very friendly staff and we really enjoyed the menu. My favourite was the houmous which I kept talking about all day which caused some laughter 🤣 and the toasties were the best! My daughter enjoyed the kids tray which was really thoughtfully put together and tasty and my son the waffles which looked amazing and he definitely had no problem eating up. Thank you, we will be back when next this...

This place is an incredible little hidden gem. The café is gorgeous inside, comfy seating, spacious tables, beautiful handcrafted items on display. We had a selection of dishes including the mouth-wateringly delicious Hawawshy Toasties and the freshly made waffles with Orkney ice cream. There were an array of tantalising fresh bakes on the counter which we were too stuffed to try, but we did take some away to have later. I would highly recommend you stop here of you are in the area, we will be back when we are next in Orkney.

Super little cafe, with excellent coffee and cake. Egyptian cake and Coffee cake of particular note! Lovely selection of high quality handcrafted goods to browse, with items for all tastes and budgets, and a pleasing cross section of crafts represented. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, and always nice to have a chat with Mohamed and Linda. I wish them every success with this venture, especially as they are remaining open over the winter and not forgetting their local 'bread and butter' customer base.
