A must-see place

Rightly, a landmark for the Community.

Robertsons is a tearoom, a snack bar (homemade made to order lunches), and a great place for (licensed) drinking; together with a shop for crafts (jewellery, books and cards), and local fresh produce (cheese, butter, chocolate etc.); but it’s also an information point with lots of leaflets, and a meeting venue, both for social purposes and fun gatherings!

Besides that, the place is really characteristic, and very pleasant :-D What more could you want?!

We had: vegetable lasagna (wrong choice… for an Italian), and a selection of cold cuts (ok). Price per...

I give a lot of five star reviews and then I encounter a business like Robertson's where the food and especially the service go so far beyond the norm that five stars just isn't enough. The food was great, tasty, plentiful, locally sourced and well priced. however, what really made it was the service. Fiona was so friendly and helpful with things to do on Orkney. We came away with loads of info. then on paying Kaitlyn was great sourcing coin for us (don't ask!) We're only here for the week but I can see us eating here...

We popped in here on a Sunday afternoon in May. It’s a small establishment with a few tables for coffee inside, plus some outdoor seating as well. The lady who served us was lovely and very welcoming. Both myself and my husband had the soup, which was delicious. It was lentil, with added vegetables - properly Scottish and traditional. I’m Scottish and wish my lentil soup could taste so good! I had a soft drink and my husband had a pint. We would definitely return if we ever come back to the...

We were having a cup of tea at the Skerries Bistro. We asked the waitress there what she suggested we do with our afternoon and she said to get some tray bakes from Robertson's as they were really good and go eat them on the beach. We came to St Margaret's Hope and found it and as it was such a lovely day, sat outside Robertson's with tea, coffee and two tray bakes and shared them. She was right, they were really tasty.

Charming place, great for lunch. Service was lovely and atmosphere great. It's beautifully decorated. Small souvenir section with locally produced items and another section with leaflets and info, like a mini tourist information. My burger was a little underwhelming (it was just a bap with a patty, no onion/ lettuce/ tomato nor ketchup or mustard). But overall still a lovely experience.

Cosy wee cafe and bar with a great selection of food, including catering for people with allergies and dietary restrictions with clearly labelled menu for food and cakes which helped put us at ease when looking for vegan plant-based oat/almond/soy milk whilst waiting for the ferry.
