I am from Texas, USA. I stayed in Scotland for six months. I had never tried Indian cuisine before and Sid’s Spice was recommended to me by a friend who knew a good restaurant when they went to one. I am so glad I tried Sid’s Spice. I ate here a total of three times—each visit being better than the one before. I couldn’t express how much I enjoyed Sid’s food. It was absolutely amazing! Indian cuisine is now my favorite. On the third and last visit I had a Vegan dish with mushrooms pictured below. Now it may seem odd, but when I took the first bite, I literally had tears in my eyes. It was one of the best things I had ever eaten—cultured layers of spices exploded in my mouth. It was so delicious. Aside from the food, the owner, Sid, was absolutely one of the kindest restauranteurs I’ve met. The setting was really modern yet I felt like I was somewhere in India. This restaurants definitely a must try.

I was left scratching my head after visiting the “Second best Indian restaurant in Scotland”. The food was average and overpriced, with a non-alcoholic Corona costing £4.50 and three poppadoms/accompanying chutneys costing £8.50 - prices you’d expect in London, not a small village in the Highlands. The manager didn’t mention the chutney charge upfront, and my meal for one came to a staggering £38.60. I’ve never known to pay so much for such bang average food. I’m assuming it must have changed hands recently with new owners trading on its past reputation. Be warned or better still save your money!

Well what can I say. Have been thinking about nipping in here for dinner one evening for such a long time. Kept hearing really good things but never seemed to find the time when we were along in Brora. Last night was finally the night and WOW it lived up to what we had heard. A group of seven of us attended and had a variety of mains, rices and sides. Everything was absolutely incredible. Can 💯% recommend Sid’s whatever you order you won’t be disappointed with the amazing food or the great service. 🍛 👏🏼

What a shame! We had a lovely meal from here a few years ago, so we decided to come back for dinner on 13.04.24. We had a booking for 7pm, we were a little late, but our table still wasn't ready, so we had to wait. Not a problem. We ordered 2 popadoms and dips, but once we finished them, the waiters didn't take the empty plates away, even though 3 of them walked past multiple times. One of them brought out our naan bread and really struggled to put it down, as there was no space on the table because of the empty plates. So I took the dish from him, put it down on the table. He still walked away without clearing the table. (The exact same thing happened to the table next to us. There were 4 of them and they had to tidy up their own table and hand the used plates to the waiter when their main courses were served). We then got the rest of our order (finally, they took the empty plates away). We ordered Lamb Korai, got chicken instead. We didn't raise this at the time, as my husband was happy to eat the chicken instead and we didn't want to eat separately while one of us waited for the correct dish to arrive. I had the Chicken Sagwala. Both dishes were bland and some of my chicken pieces didn't taste fresh. We didn't enjoy the meal :( The Garlic Naan was really nice, though. I had a really bad stomach that night. It was all very disappointing. It's a shame, because it used...

We were staying in Brora at the Caravan & Motorhome club site. After a train trip from Brora to Wick and back. We decided to visit Sid’s Indian restaurant facing the platform at the station. Always apprehensive trying new Indian restaurants, as over the years I have had many disappointments. Not this time the food and service was excellent. One of the best curries I’ve had in a long time. Newly refurbished and it looks lovely, has clean lines and pleasing decorator. I complimented the manager on the new decorator and excellent food. The chef came out from the kitchen to thank us and at the same time checking the the other customers were also happy with their meals. I would Highly recommend this restaurant. Can’t speak for the takeout but, my husband & I loved the food we had. On a final note no dry mouth in the morning. I’m thinking only great fresh ingredients, but no official confirmation on that statement it’s just my opinion. I wish this restaurant was my local I’d be going regularly....

Staying at Grannie's Hielan' Hame for a few days and decided to get an Indian to take out. It’s just over 25 mins drive from the caravan park so enough time for food to be prepared by the time you get there.

The chicken pakora isn’t the classic style but to be honest it’s just as good. A tub of battered and fried chicken tikka bits which were really tasty and the sauce complimented them well.

The peshwari naan was medium size but was just enough. Packed with flavour with a great consistency.

We got a different curry each, mine was the lamb nawabi and the other chicken badami. The lamb and was cooked to perfection. The nawabi was recommended by the staff and I was not left disappointed. It was said to be spicy but had just enough spice. The badami had cashews and the Mrs really enjoyed it.

Would highly recommend. The take away pick up is round the side of the restaurant. Next time would probably try to sit in as the restaurant looked really nice...
