Came here with the family this afternoon as my daughter who runs a B&B thought it would be nice for the family (all eleven of us) to come and visit as it was my grandson's 18th today. We had a miniature Yorkshire Terrier with us and were prepared to sit outside. Went inside and everyone ordered what they wanted (Gran and Grampa's treat). Were served by a really helpful and pleasant assistant who brought our coffees and cakes and ice cream etc. It started to rain so everyone then made their way inside. I sat right at the door (open) and put my dog under my seat and we were all happy. Suddenly I was pounced upon by this older officious female assistant who very abruptly ordered me to get my dog out of there adding that they didn't allow dogs inside. I immediately complied with her wishes and went outside. There were certainly no notices either round the back or the front of the establishment to say no dogs were allowed. I think this assistant could certainly be taught a lesson in customer relations. There are ways and means of speaking to people!!! I understand she was also somewhat abrupt with my granddaughter when she bought a coffee. Unlike the famous Arnie "I won't be back". I will be putting a similar review on TripAdvisor. ...

Genuinely don't know where to begin, it was so good, so I'll just dive in and say that the ice cream we had here was probably the nicest and lushest we've ever had anywhere. Our main courses - jacket potatoes- were nice, but the desserts... ridiculously good, everything rich in taste and generous of portion. Great choice of exotic sundaes and ice creams (Drambuie and raspberry ice cream...not sure something that tastes that good is legal, is it??). Add to this a lovely atmosphere, super-helpful and welcoming staff, and a shop that is the kind of shop Willy Wonka would open if he branched out into specialist cheese, quality meats and biscuits - and you get a really special place. Just be aware this is a very, very dangerous place if you are calorie counting ;-) Can't recommend...

Coming down the A9 we diverted here for a late lunch. We'd pegged it as a place to stop based on the other reviews, and the place lived up to it's reputation. We only had ice-cream ourselves, but the other diners had food that looked just like in many of the review pictures. We arrived on a Thursday at about 1:30pm. It wasn't busy and we ordered at the counter after waiting for only one other person. It was a great place to stop and I'm glad we did. The ice cream was really good quality, the atmosphere was great, the mini store was nice, service and attitudes were pleasant, the washroom/toilets were clean. They have a small store for farm produce, and an outside seating area with animal pens and great views of the surrounding countryside. Well...

Nice cafe, delicious ice cream and farm animals in pens beside the cafe were great for the kids. Stewart Tower Dairy produces dairy ice cream and you can visit their ice cream parlour / coffee shop on the edge of the farm. There are 18 different flavours of ice cream all served in cones, tubs or as sundaes. On the field next to the shop, they have 3 animal pens: geese, goats, a hog and chickens. The goats were the major attraction for all the kids and adults too, especially the kids (baby goats).
