We went to the Tea House on the Loch for lunch today. It’s our second visit this week. The dog enjoyed it as much as my mum and dad. The staff are warm, friendly and attentive. The homemade soups are excellent, the toasties a delight and if Rabbie Burns was still alive he’d write poetry about the scones. Heartily recommend this wee gem of a place and calling before 10 am to reserve a table.

I have visited this cafe on several occasions and have always enjoyed a lovely lunch until last week when I was left feeling disappointed and frustrated by the service and attitudes of staff. My mum and I ordered soup and sandwich, a dessert and a soft drink which was essentially a deluxe afternoon tea, however because I didn’t specially state this when ordering, the items were priced individually. When I enquired at the cash register, the server agreed that it would be cheaper as an afternoon tea deal, however the other staff in the cafe encouraged her to decline my request and I paid the greater amount. I was even willing to forego the scone and jam which would also have been included with the deal. I was speechless and dismayed. They encouraged me to ask for the deal next visit - there will not be any further visits I’m afraid, and of course, if they’d had any sense at all they’d have realised that the Ā£5 difference in cost was actually their tip which needless to say they didn’t...

My sisters booked this fabulous tea house for our lunch to get together as I was up in Scotland to see them. As we arrived we all received a lovely warm welcome. Got our table near a great log burner. The place was so lovely inside and spotless throughout. We had the full Afternoon tea. We started with delicious homemade lentil soup . Followed by our choice of sandwiches. A great selection. Yummy bloomer bread. Followed by a choice of cake and scones with clotted cream & jams with tea. We all agreed the food was exceptional. Extremely tasty and very delicious. Denise our server we cannot thank her enough as her service was just superb. The place was extremely busy and she handled this with such professionalism and ease. So a huge thank you to Denise and her great team for such a beautiful lunch in such a fantastic setting. You truly must visit this beautiful place . Thank you all for a very...

Unfortunately disappointed, got reprimanded for not booking despite trying to call all morning (as their Facebook page advises) and a table being immediately available anyway. If you want to book I'd try days in advance as they advised they only listen to messages at the end of the day. Waited 20 minutes to have order taken, then 30 mins for food to come out and it wasn't the right order, they did offer to remake and we waited a bit more but eventually gave up as at this point we'd been there an hour (we only ordered a toastie and a bagel). I'd normally be fine with this as it was fairly busy but other tables that came in long after us had orders taken and were served before us. Was really hopeful for this place due to great reviews online. However one waitress was lovely to my dog and gave her some chicken...
