The Broom Cafe — Restaurant in Scotland

Have visited here quite a few times and think cafe has a nice vibe. The staff are good and attentive. In the main, food good, however, couple of issues. My tuna and onion sandwich came with massive big chunks of onion. Perhaps a little finesse could be used + the onions chopped a bit finer, then mixed with tuna. Also sandwich looked as if it had been thrown together, halved and chucked on plate. Maybe cutting into quarters and placing on plate, crust side down, would not only look a bit more appetising but also be easier to eat. My last little bug bear is that, sadly due to health issues, I cannot take caffeine. Yet because of this, I am penalised and have to pay extra per cup for decaffeinated coffee. Given that the prices aren't exactly cheap and fact that decaffeinated coffee drinkers are in the main in the minority, it seems unfair that we are charged extra. It won't stop me going to cafe again, but maybe something...

Normally our go to place for pancakes so went as a back to school treat.. have to say we were left disappointed! The difference in size and portions was noticeable from the minute they were placed in front of us. We were there in May this year and the portion was 2 big pancakes with good helping of strawberries and Nutella.. .this time they were no bigger than palm of my hand (which is small!) And the strawberries were chopped into teeny pieces to make it look like more! Nutella was clearly being rationed as well. The prices had increased which I understand with the current climate but to pay more for much much for less is not on. Really gutted we left feeling disappointed and might not be back for a while. Service was ok and it was getting busy when we left so my review might be worth nothing but for pancakes go back to what...

I’ve been a customer since they opened- so a review is overdue! Service - is really spot on- fast, friendly and professional and always with a smile and a wee chat! Coffee- is amazing. James is usually on the machine and brews the best caffè around👊🏼 Food- a great range of fresh, made to order plates. Fast, tasty and at a good price. I love the place because when you want a coffee and a snack in a rush they help you get back on track real fast.
