Fabulous food! Had a really fresh and tasty fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas that tasted homemade. Hubby got a cajun chicken burger which was super tasty and bursting with flavour. It has a side garlic dip as well which was just really garlicky, the way we liked it!

Only negative comment was the soft chips - get them crispy and you'll have a bang on meal!

Dessert wise we ordered a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was nice and hubby got a Sticky Toffee Pudding. I make a really super good sticky Toffee Pudding which I'm very proud of and this one from Butt and Ben is very similar in taste to what I make so we're really happy with that. The Toffee sauce was very grainy though so the sugar hasn't melted properly yet or crystallised again perhaps. Taste was good though.

Price wise, a wee bit expensive for a similar place but qirh decent food like that, I don't mind paying the extra pennies.

Fab place, will...

WEE UPDATE:- DELICIOUS PLACE...and not just the food! Since first posting this review I've been back every week. The staff are so attentive and genuine that locals and travellers alike are meeting here in growing numbers. Croftamie itself is a fantastic staging post for scenic walks, cycles and drives. If I commend it any more I'll probably do myself out of a seat ! Original Review:- This place was busy on the day we visited but was well run and we didn't wait long to be served. It has both indoor and outdoor eating areas, a take-away window and a free car park. It appeared completely covid-savvy in terms of table layout etc. The food was nicely presented by very pleasant and able staff. All of It was delicious. I opted for the hot porridge with berries. It was superb. The prices were absolutely fine too. I will be...

We have passed by here on many occassion ( for 20 years in one form or another) and one early Saturday evening we decided to call on a whim. We reserved a table for two plus our dog. On arrivial it was a lovely surprise to find a relaxed informal venue with lovely friendly professional staff who were very welcoming. The food was an even bigger surprise. I had the nicest cooked fish I may have ever had and my wife had the sweet potato curry which was equally as nice. I was expecting normal " pub grub" so to speak, but this was something else; good quality, incredibly tasty food from a nicely varied menu. Honestly, it really is worth a drive. The atmosphere was relaxed, unhurried and efficiently laid back. 👌 nice. We will...

We passed this place on the way to Finnich Glen (Devil’s Pulpit) and decided to stop for lunch on the return and made a great choice. There’s a great range of sandwiches and tasted paninis, an interesting soup of the day (Thai tomato) and salad (seafood). We had the French Toast, which was lovely, and I had to fight off the urge to try all the cakes and slices which looked superb. The latte at the end was sensational - it’s worth the drive here just for the coffee. It’s a lovely modern cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, and staff were just wonderful - great service, lovely people, and absolutely superb in dealing with requests for a gluten free meal.
