Over all I’ve always enjoyed my visits here, with really nice coffee (can’t wait for the roastery) and friendly staff even when it gets super busy. I’ve just had a slightly bad eggy experience that last couple of times I’ve been in. The fried eggs are perfectly cooked from the bottom, but from on the top there is raw egg white, which texture and visually doesn’t bother me too much. Where it does raise an issue is a possible health and safety concern, as I have developed a jippy tummy. I had mentioned it to a member of staff as a concern, but was told to ask for both sides cooked in next time I come in, and that it’s just how they I made. Which I appreciate the honesty and don’t blame the member of staff for anything, raw egg white just concerns me when it could easily be avoided. It won’t put me off from coming back though! There are not many places to go nearby so I have been to this place quite often. The place itself is nice although the location is not the best, quite isolated. It is not very big either. As a coffe place they don't have a lot of things to eat but what they have tastes really good. They don't have wifi connection or TV so it's difficult to entertain the kids. However because they don't have competition nearby the place should be a success. Personally I won't come back to this place because: Prices are quite high. I never felt wellcome by the manager of the place. The rest of the staff is really nice though. Obviously this is my personal opinion and why I am disappointed with the place. However, I have read other comments from people who felt the same way about the manager. I hope this changes...

Excellent coffee (their place in the coffee guide is well merited) alongside friendly and attentive wait staff and a nice setting. We got there quite late and the kitchen was closed, but we got to sit outside on a strangely warm October day and drink good coffee and eat perhaps the moistest chocolate muffin of all time.

Good selection of coffee beans on sale too (all from Artisan Roast in Edinburgh) along with coffee preparation equipment like chemex, aeropress, and pour over filter; along with some manual and electric grinders and various teas and associated paraphernalia. Beans on sale can be ground fresh for your chosen preparation method which is always nice when you can't afford a 2 thousand pound grinder to get your espresso just right.
