Visited the Corbie Inn yesterday 23/06/22, it is a lovely place with a great beer garden to the rear of the Inn, plenty of parking and the owners are always busy tidying up around the place and tending to the vast array of flowers in the garden. I had booked a table for 2.00pm and when we arrived we decided to sit in the beer garden as it was a nice warm day, we were old that we would have to order and pay for the meal inside, not a problem, we went in and were given two menus to look at, I had been telling my friend about the beautiful pizzas that they serve there and we were disappointed to discover that they do not start serving their pizzas until 5.00pm (take note), however there are plenty more delicious meals on the menu so we both decided to order burgers, mine was the Highlander and my friend had the chilli burger. We informed the waitress that we would like to sit outside, no problem, but we were left to take the Jug with the numbered wooden spoon along with the condiments and cutlery out to our table ourselves, not a big issue but would have been nice to be shown to a table and have the required items placed there. The food came in reasonable time and we were not disappointed, the burgers were fabulous and portions were of giant proportions, the chilli on the burger was a little to tomato sauceish for my friends taste, but that is purely personal taste. When we finished we sat talking for a good 45mins and the dirty plates were still sitting in front of us as no one had come near us since the food was put down (maybe something the management could look at) Would I go back? most definitely, a lovely place for a drink on a summers evening and the food is certainly up there with the big players, maybe just tweak it a little bit so that you are not made to feel like you might do a runner after your meal if you hadn't paid for it beforehand and return to the table a bit more during diners stay, Oh and don't expect the diners to carry their cutlery etc to the table. Hope that the owners will take these small criticism's in the spirit that they...
Read moreSadly overhyped, I had heard good things and bad, mostly decent, we decided this would be our choice of takeaway to celelbrate a family birthday, we ordered £72 worth of food.
Bacon & cheese burger with chips, onion rings & coleslaw Scampi & chips Macaroni & chips Tempura Prawns Breaded Garlic mushrooms Cheesie Garlic bread Chicken Fajitas Portion of Onion Rings Chicken Nachos
Firstly, the coleslaw was missing, but the food was already cooling so we just took the loss rather than go back.
The burger was thick and chewie, gristly, like you would get out a greasy spoon cafe or burger van, the onion rings are just frozen onion rings like you'd buy out of Tescos, tiny and soggy. The chips were the one thing that we all enjoyed.
The nachos were dry too. Garlic bread slices were tiny and had some plastic looking very orange cheese clinging to it that smelled very chemically, I couldn't even eat it.
Macaroni was seemingly good as was the chicken fajitas.
But over all the portion size and quality, do not reflect the pricing, completely overpriced, This is pub grub, but to me it is not good pub grub, choosing to spend money to eat takeout is a luxury for many, including us, and I certainly will not be a return customer.
You get a better burger for your money from 5 guys or even Burger King, which is...
Read moreJim (Jimbo) Warren's review Dark & dingy but the food is good. Yet the problem with most places is hot food put on to cold plates as with my chicken curry. The chunks of chicken werent tuff but were a bit too firm. Other than that it tasted ok. The custard was good but the possibly tinned apples were a bit hard in the apple tart/slice/pie. Returned again in September 2020 & this piece of chicken 🐥 aint have BQ. Should only be 3 * * *
BACK IN AGAIN 3 yrs later 3/10/23 with a funeral party. Coffee came only WARM, waited for more - nothing doing, so went to the bar & paid for a lovely tasting Lattie & when the guy eventually came round with the Coffee pot i got my cup of lattie ☕ topped up. The waiters didn't go round often enough with the tea & Coffee pots. The boofie consisted of small sausage rolls & they were warm also BUT they tasted great as did the tryanguler cut sannies with many different fillings in them to choose from, funny enough i didn't see any napkins about. They had lovely small varied cakes on display, i chose a small round bit of shortbread but it was a tad soft & tasted horrible. The best small & large shortbread can be bought in CENTRAL PERK on, or the approach to Grahams rd in Falkirk SO get yersell doon there & check it out & u won't be...
