A great little pub to visit if you're in and around the area or if you've climbed Screel hill. Dog friendly and great food. My husband is celiac and the chef couldn't have been more helpful, he even made a bespoke desert for him. Would definitely return!! We have left a review on our Instagram @spanieldaft too 👍

Stayed at the local campsite and this pub is a great location for great home cooked food and a few beers. Good for kids too and prices are good.

No food tested, as the inn has just reopened.. Not serving alchahol either yet. HOW EVER this little bar, in a small village, is desperately trying to get a foot hold into the community. New managers are lovely and very hospitable. Currently they are open and charging a corkage. But go there for some amazing atmosphere and meet some of the locals. For those living in palnackie, this bar is a lifeline. I visited palnakie two weekends ago, and was given a very warm welcome. I sat, got involved in a quiz, drank my own alchahol and enjoyed a free plate of chips.

Well done Shannon and Jonny. Thoroughly enjoyed a perfect saturday evening. I would give 10...

Great find! My Wife and I came here as our usual place has gone downhill massively since a change in ownership. We looked at some reviews and thought we would give it a go. It's fantastic, very clean and warm inside. All the staff were really friendly. We hadn't booked but they managed to get us in. It was only £6 for a pint and a pinot which was a bonus. I had a home made soup and then a curry and my wife had a veggie lasagne. All the food was delicious and the chef even asked how it was which was a nice touch. We come to Scotland every year and this will be on our must visit list now. It was the perfect end to a perfect day....

My girlfriend and I popped in today to enquire about food, we were politely told food was not available and the bar tender was kind enough to advise on other places to try. On leaving the pub a local customer screamed out loud enough for the entire pub to hear " Tourist, tourist, go on then f**k off back to where you came from"

A terrible shame this mentality still exists, I'm sure it's a great pub for locals however if you're from out of town I suggest you never step foot in the place. I...
