Booked lunch here on a recommendation, and it was very good. The food was excellent and none of our party could fault it. The starters, mains, pan seared trout Tofu, beef and pork dishes were all lovely. The warm date & ginger cake was mmm. All enjoyed their lunch. Prior to our meal we also had a look at the sea-scapes by David Joy. He was doing a painting in his garden next to the restaurant and we had a wonderful chat with him. A talented artist amongst other things. A very nice afternoon with great views over St Andrews.

I only wish I could give it 6 stars. The food is pure perfection, the wines are wonderful, the building is charming and the owners & staff are delightful. The owners, John and Carolyn, are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. The standout, of course, is the food. Each course and entremet were a feast for the eyes and the palate. If you are anywhere in the vicinity, you must make reservations. Be sure to leave time for a pre- or post- dinner drink by the fire in the snug.

We had heard good things, but the experience was a beyond our expectations! My dad booked The Grange Inn as a surprise for our honeymoon, and it is easily the highlight so far - the service was phenomenal, and the food out of this world! Our courses were divine, and we loved the extras like bread fresh from the oven, the canapés and intermediaries. If you think the photos are good, just wait until you taste it! Utterly divine.

My wife and I were in Scotland for the Open Championship and we picked this restaurant from a list our travel guide provided.

I had no idea The Grange Inn would be one of the highlights of the trip (after all, we were there to watch a golf tournament!). I had been to Scotland in 1981, and had such a memorable golf vacation that I was certain that this experience would not compare.

But Scotland will not disappoint -- and this restaurant is as good as it gets. The staff was disarmingly charming, nothing was rushed, and the whole experience was so...you know that wonderful warm glow you experience with your first sip of a really superior whiskey? That's The Grange.

Our thanks to the owner and staff. If you ever need to find your "happy...

A group of us from the States - Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA - were recently so fortunate to spend our last night in Scotland at The Grange Inn. We are all foodies and continual travelers and all rated our experience and dinner here among the best! The service, ambiance, creativity, attention to detail and just sheer excellence of the food were second to none. With such a stellar night, it’s difficult to single any dishes out but the salmon, lamb, and Guinea hen were superb. The chef also sends out special “surprises” between courses - lagniappe or amuse-Bouchés, however you style it - and they were delicious too. The Kelly family are wonderful hosts and the experience is special, memorable and not to be missed. Don’t...

Very enjoyable dinner experience. The menu is fairly limited but more than sufficient, that said the quality of the cooking is excellent. There are also lovely canapes and amuse-bouche dishes. It feels quite traditional, there's a quiet atmosphere, as opposed to the hussle and bussle of many of the restaurants in town. It's relatively small with approximately 30 covers in the main dining area. The staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, for the quality, it's fair value, wines are priced sensibly. Would certainly go back on our next visit to St Andrews and would happily...
