Christmas meals at The Greenside. The interior is lovely and the staff are efficient and friendly.
One of us opted for the prawn cocktail followed by roast beef while the other chose the roast beef followed by apple crumble. The prawn cocktail was nice albeit a small portion. The main meals arrived in a ‘tower’ formation which included one Yorkshire pudding, two halves of roast potato, four small brussel sprouts, a few pieces of carrot, two slices of thinly cut roast beef and some gravy. The apple crumble topping was a layer of toasted oats and was served with ice cream. Unfortunately we were unable to eat the roast beef due to the meat being pink and not to our taste however, afterwards the really nice waiter took time to explain why it was all cooked medium rare and if we had wanted it cooked for longer it would have been possible. Read moreWas here with my husband the other day for some food and drinks and I've got to say this place is a hidden gem ! We were visiting culzean Castle and were recommended to try the greenside for dinner, I had Swiss pan roasted chicken and it was the best meal I've had from a restaurant in a long time...waitress was polite and happy and service was super quick given the restaurant looked packed and we even seen there was a beer garden. We had some cocktails after dinner which were spectacular and came recommended by the bartender who was hilarious and recommended us both a drink we loved. I cannot express how friendly she was however I did not catch her name she had colored hair and tattoos and recommended us more places to visit in the area.
All in all a top notch dining experience and I would recommend it to anybody...
Read moreThe Greenside Restaurant has transformed the pedestrian entrance to Maybole into somewhere warm and welcoming. As you come off the train or bus you enter The Greenside which is a small public park and the restaurant faces this. It is a two minute flat walk from the train station. The ambiance is warm and buzzy and the decor is modern yet cosy. The staff are friendly and chatty and the food is beautifully presented and delicious. The cocktails are well priced and well made. The place also has a beautifully presented outdoor seating area which will be great in the warmer months. Will return and recommend...
