Dined at The Lade Inn, nestled at the entrance to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and it's like stepping into a cozy Scottish haven. Surrounded by the countryside, the inn is surprisingly spacious inside, giving you room to breathe and soak in the atmosphere. One unique charm is their own brewed beer, which adds an extra touch to your dining experience. The service was quick, friendly, and remarkably helpful, making you feel like you're among old friends. Walking in, you're greeted by a festive explosion of Christmas decorations, setting the perfect Scottish holiday mood. To complete the ambience, there's proper Scottish folk music serenading from the speakers. Now, for the food, I opted for the steak pie. The pie itself was a treat; you could taste the ale infused into the sauce, and the portion size was hefty. The meat was tender as a Highland embrace. However, the vegetables and fries left me wanting for more flavor. Price-wise, it was just a tad above the pub average, but the overall experience made it worth every penny. If you find yourself at Loch Lomond's doorstep, The Lade Inn is a warm, welcoming stop for a taste of Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a great place to stop off for lunch. Great welcome, convers and service from Robert who is barman and waiter This is about a far removed from a chain pub with plastic decor and food and fake continental lager as you can get. The home made steak and ale pie was wonderful, served with a generous selection of vegetables and chips - all beautifully cooked and served hot. My wife had the home made mushroom, wholegrain mustard and tarragon soup - possibly the best mushroom soup she's ever tasted - together with a fresh cooked baguette filled with prawns and rose Marie sauce. Three real ales on tap from the Lade Brewery - again superb. There's even a real ale shop on site. Fantastic. Worth the drive from Loch Lomond for the soup alone. Oh, and less expensive than chain pubs as well. Our best food and drink experience this holiday and will definitely visit again in the future.

Went in after a munro trip, taken straight to the table by very friendly staff, drinks on thr table in under 2 minutes of arriving, the waitress had a nice conversation with us asking how our day was. Food took about 20 minutes, absaloutly fine, I had fish, massive portions, struggled to finish the chips, freind had steak pie, again very large portion, fish was massive, main meal and 2 pints of Stella was £27, I think that's a fair price compared to some of the places I have eaten close to the lade Inn. We went in with hiking gear on, trousers coverd in dirt, the staff didn't care, some of the other dinners on the other hand gave us funny looks. Side note, to the people reviewing the lade in 1 star, if you are ignorant you will find ignorant, if you want 5 star + food, goto somewhere that's Michelin star, food is fantastic for the money.

Being regular hikers in the surrounding Trossachs, my husband and I have driven past the Lade Inn innumerable times, and always wished we could stop to try it for a meal or a drink, especially on winter afternoons, when a plum of smoke often issued from its chimney and told us there was a lively warm fire inside. Well, since good things come in pairs, we recently visited the Lade Inn not once but twice. First for a drink on a spring evening, which we enjoyed in the cosy pub area. I instantly liked the unpretentious but very welcoming interior. We were the last two customers and the fire had died out before we arrived (even if other guests were still being served food), so I was a little cold. But the staff was lovely and seeing the food portions made us want to come back for a meal. So a week later we did that, and we were not disappointed. I had the vegetarian burger with cheese and my husband the fish and chips. The fish was flaking away, soft like butter, and very well seasoned. But the vegetarian burger was to die for. Two patties and two slices of cheese!! I am vegetarian and often am served minuscule portions that cost like a regular meal and just depress me. The Lade Inn instead made me feel like a valued customer. The chips were ok, nothing to write home about but good enough. Last but not least, the manager is extremely friendly and helpful, and he is a history buff that will answer any possible questions...

We went for a lunch to this cafe and the entire lunch was a disaster. The gentleman taking order was extremely rude ..every question asked was answered without a smile and very dismissively. Even when he took back the menu post our order he was very rough and aggressive(snatched it from us). when asked what is for the dessert of the day - he said read it your self. The same gentleman was very kind to other non asian customers. he was treating others with a smile and then checking how their food was . The perception given to us - very clearly we are not welcome ..the way we were treated was a discrimination . because we are Asian (chinese (LGBTQ) and Indian family (couple with a small child) ) and all the other customers were western. Even during the lunch we had to request for their attention . There was a young gentlemen serving in between who was the only one polite and trying his best.

Our food came in late, infact came later than one family who came after us . The order was messed up for the kid and when asked we were told we gave the wrong order Infact the lady argued very aggresively..

This was the first discrimination in our entire beautiful trip to Scotland. I think I will not suggest this place if you are different- cause you are...
