Would award zero stars if i could. After using this Chinese for over 20 years I was shocked tonight, the salt and chilli ribs had NO fresh chilli rings, they had just been cooked in chilli oil and had chilli seeds mixed through the onion and green peppers, there was virtually no meat on them and loads of soggy fat, the noodles arrived as dry as the Sahara, with no beansprouts or veg through them and fine noodles instead of medium, the rice didn't have the same sesame oil and soy sauce taste as usual, the curry had a sweet taste to it and it seemed like the chicken had been previously frozen as it was rubbery, prawn crackers were as bland as plain spaghetti. Unhelpful when I called up about it. £23 spent on a "special birthday meal" for my 12 year old, my 6 year old daughter had a couple of ribs and refused to eat anything else, I couldn't eat it, my son ate some rice and curry but very little The rest has just been wasted, will NOT BE GOING BACK, I don't know if it's a new chef or new management but that is not the quality of food The Lantern used to sell. Disappointed and dissatisfied doesn't even begin to describe how I feel, this was supposed to be a special birthday treat although turned out I would have been better off just throwing the cash in the bin which is kinda what I have done by having to bin all that food. Used this place for years until about 2 year ago when it went downhill a bit so we stopped ordering.Decided to try again after not finding any other decent one’s in EK & I must say we’re all so glad we did.Girl was very well mannered on phone as was delivery driver.Portion sizes are absolutely huge now.My 26 year old son could only manage half a portion of chips,chicken balls,fried rice & curry sauce which was so delicious.Curry sauce tastes wayyyy better than before & the chicken balls were soooo good too.He’s also fussy so was good to hear he even gave the food a 10/10.We got succulent barbecue spare ribs & wasn’t an issue when I asked for extra sliced lemon with them.Special fried rice was lovely too & again portion sizes are very large now.That was the BEST one we’ve ever had from there & will definitely become a regular again.Good to see yahs back on top guys...

The curry sauce is ok tho the chicken in bathed in water should take a leaf on how to do chicken from royal cottage sizzling wok and marlboro the chezan chicken is discusting tastes nothing like it again try marlboro and as for soggy shredded beef in a don't know wat sauce it supposed to be yes you read that right the so called crispy shredded beef is bogin again try marlboro recipe once you done this then it ok was a lot better years ago this place it has just no care of customers likes and is a waste make your chicken properly and you will see more customers and please please cut the salt in he curry sauce it's not a fast food restaurant were u want us to keep buying juice to hide the salt n boost earnings your a takeaway and most people just...
